The Scene
Overlooking the Golden Triangle, the Inn sits over the edge of Grandview Avenue and is a less fancy alternative to get the view at a reasonable cost. The main dining room is terraced so everyone gets a good view. (There is also a smaller dining area on the second floor, called the loft.) The interior is basic white stucco and barnwood siding, with tables set up for large and small groups.
The Menu
This is classic American food, served Pittsburgh style, meaning portions are very large, with many fried and broiled specialties. The lunch menu features grilled seafood and two-fisted sandwiches. The big fried fish sandwich is a stand-out, lightly breaded and crispy. Another favorite is the croissant club, with ham, cheese, turkey, and bacon, topped off with a fried egg. For dinner, beef (six different steaks), veal and a wide range of seafood are most popular. Regulars rave about the jumbo lump meat crab cakes and the char-broiled swordfish. Every dinner is served with assorted cheeses, soup or salad, potato or pasta, and a vegetable, so order conservatively.

Georgetown has always been a special place for my husband & I. We've taken out of town guests, celebrated anniversaries, and birthday's there. Recently took visitors from N.C. Felt we had a great meal for the price . . cheese board, a loaf of bread, soup & salad, and entree. Salad had no cheap iceberg lettuce. Everything was fresh. The waitress was very attentive. Got a thank you from our out of town guests specifically mentioning the trip to Georgetown Inn as a highlight of the visit.

My fiance and I went to the Gerogetown Inn for her birthday. When we arrive we were told to go up the stairs and we would be seated. So after squeezing through the bar we made are way up the stairs we were seated at the corner window seat. It felt like we were sitting at the same table as the people next to us. Are table was so wobbly that everytime we cut are salad or moved are drinks would spill how embarrising. Half way through my salad i noticed a piece of plastic in it . I told the waitress and she said " It happens all the time " So she offered us a free drink probably after noticing are drinks were spilled on the wobbly table. I ordered the fishermans plater it was horrible the best thing about the meal was the baked potato. I would not recommend this place to anyone.... Nice view, Bad food Bad service, Small portions Over priced...

Whoever used the term prompt seating must have been to the Georgetown Inn during a down time of the day. We made reservations for 8 pm the night before Valentines Day. We did not get seated unitl 9:05 pm. Understandibly there was a bit of a wait (even though you make reservations) but when I went up to check if my name was actually still on the list, it was circled with 6 names below me all crossed off. There were no apologies or compensation for the ridiculous wait. When we were seated and ordered our food, I got the French Onion Soup that was barely warm. The bowl was hotter than the soup. Very small portions. I was able to eat bread, cheese, salad, soup and still finish my meal. The service was great. When were were leaving the maitre d and hostess were practically making out at the coat check not paying any attention to the customers leaving the restaurant and thanking them for their business. I will never go back there even if I got a gift certificate.
