Editorial Review for Le Mont – by Sam Edelmann
The Scene
From the rugs to the window treatments to the gilt-edged dinnerware, it is a cross between a restaurant and Fort Knox. The chairs, as well as the treatment received, make everyone feel comfortable. Service is impeccable; attentive and friendly without being overbearing, including a restroom attendant handing out towels.
The Menu
The menu is a throwback to earlier, more genteel times. How often do you see flaming chateaubriand for two or steak Diane prepared tableside? Stick to the restaurant's strengths, including any of the steak dishes and the rack of lamb. Despite the fact that it was recommended by a waiter, the roast raspberry duck was a disappointment. The duck was cooked right, but was tough, and the sauce was so sweet it overpowered the duck. The asparagus, carrots, and cabbage were cooked and spiced wonderfully. The creme brulee was very good, but better was the coconut macadamia pie.

I absolutely love this place. My husband and I are from out of town. We first visited the LeMont on our honeymoon. Every year when we come to Pittsburgh for a Pens game, we go to the LeMont. The service is excellent. The view is breathtaking. The decor is very elegant. A very romantic fine dining establishment for dinner for 2 and a quiet night out and and excuse to dress up. The staff goes out of their way to make your experience a pleasant one and will cater to your every need. To top it off, the food is wonderful. My husband's steaks are always cooked to perfection and the seafood and chicken dishes (the sauces are divine) are also very pleasing to the palate. Food portions are good. Asparagus and other vegetables are perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this establishment. Your best bet to beat the crowds would be to go in the middle of the week (except valentine's, etc). Be prepared to annie up on the cash, but you will not regret the experience.
Pros: the view, the atmosphere, the food, the service
Cons: the parking, the price

I was there with my husband few days ago and spent a great time. We both had roasted raspberry duck and both tasted a little different. Since we were seated not as close to the window as at Isabela on Grandview we were missing the view, but the rest was acceptable. I can't compare the quality of food with seven course menu in Isabela, but it was still o.k. We were treated very nice and had few glasses of wine that was just great. We may come back again.
Pros: Sevice was very good
Cons: Too crowdy, slow parking
