Fantastic experience!. My wife and I ate there for the first time last Monday. The food was fantastic, the service was top notch. We liked the five course setup of the meal. Highly recommended.

nice view. Very nice view, unfortunately that?s all I can say about this restaurant. I did not like anything about the food. i didnt feel like there was much to chose from first, and esp. if your not a sea food eater. i was not a fan of the decor, but i did enjoy our cocktails.

Best Black Forest Steak and Lobster with a GREAT view. My wife and I celebrate our birthday's every year at the Tin Angel. We are greeted very graciously by Nicky and shown to our table by a window. The wait staff is very friendly and knowledgable and the food is out of this world. We have been to many, many Pittsburgh restaurants over the years, but we always look forward to going back to the Tin Angel. It is a "Special Place" to celebrate our birthdays and we are always happy to see Nicky again.

10/24/2008: Another great meal and excellent and friendly service at the Tin Angel. We have visited a host

restautants in Pittsburgh and other cities, but the Tin Angel, by far, exceeds all. Nicky goes out

of her way to make us feel at home and the wait staff is outstanding as well. One is never witj

out a full glass of water, Nicky checks to make sure all is going well and Chef Diane is the very

best at in her profession. It's of no suprise that she appeared in Pittsburgh Magazine as one

of Pittsburgh's best Chefs. Over the years, we have just about ordered everything on the menu

and not once have we been the least bit disappointed. Nicky even remembers our birthdays

with a succulent chocolate dessert. When you go, and you must, be sure to try the Black

Forrest Filet or the Surf & Turf. Excellent!!!!! And thanks to the entire staff for making our visits

memorabile ones.

Frightening. Don't waste your time or money! Everything in on the menu was stuffed with crab (and some things just shouldn't be) and drenched in a ridiculously heavy cream sauce (I'm quite sure that was to hide the meat). The service left a lot to be desired as did everything else in the restaurant, from the menu to the decor - even the music was terrible... they actually had the radio playing so during your dinner you were listening to commercials. Very tacky!

User review by jayemar. Me and my girlfriend went here last evening. We first got the soup which was very good as good as wedding soup can be. Next we had the veggie boat which both of us found to be unappealing, a fancy way to display a bunch of picked veggies, the clam dip might as well have been condensed clam chowder, very thick and gauche to eat. The entrées were very good minus the wine sauce that came with the filet medallions, it wasn't simmered enough to cook out the alcohol, quite overpowering. Tea and dessert was delightful however as well as the mint pineapple at the end, very nice touch. Over all it was i nice experience but i would consider one of the other establishments on grandview before going here again.

Great Experience, Great bar. My girlfriend and I dined at the Tin Angel recently, and we both found it to be an excellent experience. The food was well worth the price. We both had steaks and the temps were perfect, and they were seasoned just right! Best steaks we have ever had. And whoever said that the seafood bisque tasted like Campbell's tomato soup was just plain wrong, it was excellent. The view is perfect, the service is perfect, you cant lose here!

Not worth the cost. Based on reviews online and a few from friends, I had high expectations before coming to Tin Angel. However, I was quite disappointed.

The meal started off with Wedding Soup (nothing special) or a fruit cup (just some melons and pineapple). Next was their 'signature' vegetable boat which was a conglomerate of marinated vegetables and some cheese and salami all which could have been bought at the local Giant Eagle. The main course was the only part of this meal that was actually above average (I had filet mignon). The desserts however, were similar to those you'd get at a TGIFridays cheesecake with canned strawberries, vanilla ice cream or a simple parfait.

This restaurant was nothing special and was extremely overpriced. The view was amazing, the service was alright and the food was not even close to what one would expect from a restaurant that charges $50-60 a head.

Great food with wonderful city views. 4 July 04: We had an excellent meal at Tin Angel. Our reservations were for 8pm, but we arrived around 6:30pm as we were told our table was ours for the night and we could arrive anytime after 5pm. Our meal began with a delicious Italian wedding soup, then their signature vegetable boat. I had the filet mignon with two lobster tails (absolutely tender, cooked perfectly. Tony had the Delmonico steak w/mushrooms. Both were served with rice pilaf or baked potato; baked tomato topped with parmesan cheese. I had their cheesecake with strawberries; Tony enjoyed French vanilla ice cream topped with apricot brandy. Our meal and 2 rounds of cocktails and a glass of wine) came to $150. For the quality of the food, the great service, and a great view of the city and fireworks, it was well worth it. We would return there again for a special occasion.

Oh, what a view! The most intimate of Grandview Avenue's cliffside eateries is a romantic haven.. The Scene
Situated on two floors, the narrow dining rooms give everyone--primarily businessmen and romantic couples--a towering view of the city. Service here is friendly and attentive.

The Food
Beginning with fresh fruit cocktail or soup, the table is then presented with a "vegetable boat" of meats and fresh vegetables with a crab dip, as well as terrific stuffed grape leaves. There are 11 main course choices. The beef is excellent, with filets prepared a number of ways, including a black forest, stuffed with black cherries and topped with a bernaise sauce. Dinner also includes a choice of four desserts, as well as fresh pineapple dipped in creme de menthe.
