hits the spot.... sometimes. a couple years ago, this was by, far, the best restaurant on the highland avenue corridor. with the opening of Mad Mex Shadyside, Abay, and BRGR, I find myself going to Buffalo Blues less and less. The atmosphere is OK, though it gets kind of rowdy at times. In comparison to these other restaurants, the fare just seems kind of ....boring.

Buffalo Blahs!!. My co-workers and I decided to go out for drinks after and long year at work. There must of been at least 10 to 11people in our party. We odered drinks and it would have been nice if they actually had the ingredients for the drinks we ordered but they were out of most key everything . . . . . .here is a tip, the wine and spirits shop is two blocks down the road . . . . .stock up!!! The waitress made special guest appreances to our table, but if you forgot to tell her quickly what you wanted, you were out of luck. After we spent and hour or so waiting, taliking, and eating, the waitress asked us if we were leaving soon. We were not quite sure what to say since we were all in our pens attire waiting for the game to start. The waitress came over again to see if we could possibly squeeze 8 to 10 people into a table that could barley hold 5 people, we denied that request. At this point the night manager came over to see if we were leaving soon because there were other fans (who wanted to do the exact same thing we were doing, getting ready for the game, socializing, drinking, and eating, basically spending money about $300.00 in their establishment) who needed our table.

After the fifth or sixth visit to our table, one of my friends decided to have some desert, however, since the waitress told her they had no menus available at this time, she would have to satisfy that craving elsewhere. The night manager came back again within a few minutes, so I fianlly asked was there a problem with us attempting to enjoy ourselves, he of course said no not really but needed the table for other people to enjoy themsevles. Never have I been so affended and insulted dining out. The discourteous manner to which we were treated made us all pick and leave . . . . . never ever to return. Buffalo Blues needs to stop worrying about packing people into their establishment, but treat the people already in there with a little more respect and consideration.

In these days with the economy so bad, money and business is precious. As we sat there, many people said this is not the first time this has happened to them at this place. I'm not sure why they go back, but I am hoping writing this will discourge people from spending money there or ever returning to a place like this again, I know I will never ever go there again!!

Great BBQ and good beer selection. Buffalo Blues has a pretty good selection of BBQ and cheap eats coupled with an extensive beer list.

I mostly eat in the back rather than the bar since its a nicer environment and away from the TVs.

Service has been haphazard in the past however I've noticed a definite improvement in the last few months.

The bar area is not very inviting, IMHO, and could benefit from some more renovation.

I got the Buffalo Blues Blues..... I used to eat at buffalo blues several times a week. However, they were recently closed for a month of remodeling. I was soooo excited to see that they had reopened and I was anxious to check out the new renovations. The renovations were ok? Not sure I would have made the same changes- but that is up to the owner. New placement of the TV's was good. The food was good as usual. But my problem with the restaurant was that the renovations were not yet finished. So while I was eating my meal, I had to hear the sound of saws and drills in the background and the smell of new paint lingered all throughout the restaurant. My date ready to pass out from the paint fumes. Also the light leading to the bathroom was not installed yet and the hallway was pitch black. Super HOT- No AC. Not really sure this would have been permitted by city health inspectors??? The service was also bad. It appears as if they left a majority of their good staff go or they left as a result of the renovations being done??? Probably being a little picky, but just not a pleasant dining experience and I probably wont be returning.

Best wing and hang out. I love their spicy garlic wings and import beers they have on tap. The bartenders their are friendly and entertaining. It's my favorite place to go after work to unwind.

Found Chewing Gum in Coleslaw (no joke)!. We have went to Buffalo Blues several times throughout the past year. Usually their food was good. Especially their all-you-can-eat wings were great and service was fairly quick and responsive. However, it seems all good things have to come to and end...the last time (May 2007) we ordered food from Buffalo Blues for pickup we found a big bright blue CHEWED piece of chewing gum burried in our cole-slaw. Yes I know it could have been a single disgruntled cook who threw his old gum in our food and hopefully it is a single occurence. Nevertheless it was disgusting and I don't want to think about what else might have been in the food I ate there. I am definitely not taking my chances.

Immediatly after the incident we called up the manager, but all we got was a short "oh ok...hang-up.", no big apologies or any offer for reimbursement or anything. Maybe they are used to those things... Maybe it's the Pittsburgh way of doing business. It's sad I won't be going there again.

Good Games. Buffalo has great video games--definitely a must after a meal. What a way to end an evening out with the family.

Good wings. Excellent place to watch a game and enjoy a few drinks (or lots of drinks). Service is slow when it is packed/game on, but that is expected.

Good wings, pulled pork, chicken sandwiches, soup, etc....good stuff.

Simple grub and a video wall behind the bar make this Highland Avenue business-district bar a stellar sports stop.. In Short
A battery of highly visible, blaring TV sets draws the sports-nut crowd. From college kids to more laid-back adults, the scene is a healthy mix. A full menu of typical American fare is served until midnight, including an assortment of appetizers and 12 varieties of wings. Chicken comes in several incarnations: grilled mustard-dill chicken, fajitas and barbecued. Steaks, sandwiches and seafood are also available.

Good for beer and sports, otherwise not worth it. Went on a Sunday evening. It took 15 minutes to get drinks, ran out of water and a manager finally brought an entire carafe of water so we wouldn't run out anymore. Took 45 mins for food to arrive at 9:00 on a Sunday night when they were NOT busy. The barbeque sandwich was so soggy it left a puddle on the plate. I had to walk back to the kitchen to get additional dressing. I've worked as a waitress and I know how hard it can be, but this was ridiculous. We had to go to the hostess station 45 mins after our food arrived to beg her for our check. It took 10 more mins for her to come back in to get it for us, while the Manager and the Owner sat in a booth watching us and drinking water and gossiping.
