CONSISTENTLY the WORST cab service I've ever had. Unreasonably long wait times, operators drop calls, cabs never show up, etc. etc. (and we're not talking isolated instances here; something bad happens EVERY TIME I've used them, lol).
Bad Experience. I called for a cab and didn't receive any notifications a half hour later. Then I called back and the lady notified me that with my destination that it would be 9 cars ahead of me. An hour later, my friend called again with a different destination and 20 minutes later, the cab came. Very disappointing.
Pleasantly Surprised. I needed a cab home from the Megabus station downtown and Yellow Cab was waiting for me at 11 pm on a holiday when we got in to town. I was taken home quickly and safely and I could not have been more pleased with my experience. Thanks driver #112!
Use Another Cab Service. I agree; this cab service is horrible. The cab drivers drink and do drugs while on duty, so be careful when getting into their vehicles! If you want reliable service, call "Y Wait " car service at (646) 281-6277. The service is reliable, and you will get to your destination safely!

Avoid this garbage excuse for a taxi "service" unless you have exhausted ALL other options. Avoid calling for one in East End neighbourhoods and don't expect any sort of consistency with dispatching. Their drivers, for some bizarre reason, think they have the right to insult people, raise their voice, or get righteous.
This is not NYC. It's not Tokyo. It's Pittsburgh. It's not that stressful people...it's not complicated. Expand your fleet, be more professional, or pack up and f--k off. This way another cab service can come in and provide service in a city in which buses are becoming an increasingly crappy option.

I've lived in Pittsburgh for 7 years and since I do not own a car sometimes I have to take a cab (mostly to the airport). I know a driver who works for Yellow Cab and he and his friends are great. They're always on time sometimes even 15 mins early so I always book my travels (esp. to the airport with these guys). But, when I am in the Pittsburgh (East End) neighborhoods, this company always ruin my day - always late for an appointment, late home, and some of the drivers are pretty scary looking; one time, I had a driver who was neurotic and he really scared the hell out of my friend Jenn and I. Another time, like today, after confirming and re-confirming with the company if they were going to pick me up, they never came. Three hours later, I called a friend to pick me up because I was stranded in East Liberty with my pet (and my pet was nervous and freaked out by all the traffic, sirens and people) and still, the cab never came. About 30 mins before my friend was to come pick us up, I tried calling them out of courtesy - to cancel my trip/schedule - no one answered my call as if, they just unplugged or hit the "ignore" button on the switchboard. I had the courtesy and etiquette to call them to let them know that I no longer needed a cab because a friend was coming to pick me up and the audacity of this company to hang up on me!
Yellow cab - you are disgusting, ill-mannered, provide poor service and many of your drivers (and switchboard operators are rude) and too expensive for the quality of service you provide. I hope Pittsburgh will get a better taxicab company in the future and run you to the ground; today this company caused a lot of distress and inconvenience for me and my pet. Thanks for nothing.
Yellow Cab is TERRIBLE. OMG! DO NOT, I mean DO NOT use this cab service. I have tried several times. They are TERRIBLE!!! No idea what is going on there. It is thursday at 6:30. We called 2 hours ago! Our reservations are long gone and this is NOT the first time. The only thing I regret is giving them a second chance. Seriously. DO NOT DEAL WITH YELLOW CAB IN PITTSBURGH! Utterly disorganized. Customer service is terrible. Classy Cab all the way! There are other services who do not come up first in searches. Use those. Yellow comes up first and first rhymes with worst...El fin...I will never call them again. I doubt they will care until this really gets around and they are out of business.
Worst cab service ever. First cab came. The driver was surly and complained the whole way from South Side to Troy Hill. After my appointment I called for a cab from Troy Hill to the North Side. The operator said that the cab would come in 20-30min. After 45 min I called to enquire about my cab. The operator responed, " are you still there?" Of course I was still there. They had not sent a cab. I was told that a new cab would be requested but that I should call them every 20 min. I called, my phone died, some nice business let me plug in. After 2+ hours I asked what was happening. The operator said that the drivers are independent contractors and do not have to respond to my request. I asked if the operator had any other company that I could call. She gave men another number, Classy Cabs. I called. They said no cab for 1 1/2 hr. but that as a professional curtesy they do not send cabs to fares who have previously called another company. I called Yellow back. My request was still active there but no cabs were taking it. After 3 hrs.of sitting on a cold stoop, I am old and this was no small feat, I asked a total stranger who had a car full of kids if she would take me home and I could pay her. She did and I did. I called Yellow and canceled. I would still be sitting on the stoop if I had continued to wait for Yellow Cab,
Yellow Cab Ruined Our Engagement. I scheduled a cab to pick us up to go to dinner where I was to propose to my girlfriend. I actually received an email confirmation that said we would be picked up between 6:30-6:45. At 7:00 I called them, and they said that no one was coming to get us and that I shouldn't have received a confirmation email. Long story short, we missed our dinner reservation and all my plans fell to ruin because of their failure as a business. I will never, ever, use their service again, and beg anyone who needs to be somewhere at a specific time to consider finding any other way of getting there other than Yellow Cab

cabby gets pissed when I dont tip....plus he had no Liscence Showing as he is mandated to.
Second Chance we got a smartass cabby from Pittsburgh who thought it was funny to be so. Plus a $20 ride from Renaissance to Mallorca what BS..,
Third I used Taxi Magic to book a return Cab which never showed, anyone who has been in South Pittsburgh in Winter waiting for a cab should feel this pain. Finally hailed an off duty cab who was nice and efficient and charged me $11 for the same ride back as before, thank you for being honest Al..
Third chance I attempted to book a cab for an event the next night and was told I was no longer allowed to book cabs because I was not at the designated spot the night before, which the cabby never showed,I explained to dispatch I never left Mallorca front door until I hailed Al's cab, didnt matter. I frequent Steeletown.... Yellow cab can kiss my mother in law, which is a much worse insult than my ass would ever be!!!!
