More Anglo-Saxon than Celtic..
The Scene
While the ubiquitous Guinness on tap and the requisite Irish knickknacks on the walls, the appearance and crowd haven't changed much since it was the Dragon Ice Company, a sports bar infamous for its noteworthylessness. The blur between what is Irish, or at least perceived to be Irish by Americans-Lucky Charms Cereal, Irish Spring Soap and green beer leading the pack-becomes even less distinct with the worship of Coors-brewed George Killian's Irish Ale, a product not produced on the Emerald Isle since the 1950s.
The Food
An occasional Irish band performs on Sundays and the food is worthy of a second, and third look. Traditional meals from across "the Pond" include ham and cabbage, corned beef and cabbage, and Guinness Stout. The potato goes multi-cultural in the form of seasoned Irish crisps--potato chip sized French fries seasoned with ranch, cheddar BBQ or Cajun. Be careful if you order chicken wings; not only are they deliciously prepared but they are huge.
