Fat Head's Is My Guitly Pleasure!!!. I don't know how anyone couldn't love Fat Head's!! I've been going to wing night every Monday for 10 years now and have NEVER had wings as good as Fat Head's! Most of the staff knows our names, is friendly, and already has our chips ordered before they even come to our table! Apple is especially friendly and a great server. These reviews are ridiculous...it's a bar with great beer and bar food - TONS of delicious bar food! I think maybe people are expecting a 5 star restaurant...it's 5 star in it's own way! LOVE Fat Head's! ...did I mention the wings?? YUM!

Poor Service, Questionable Food, Belgian Beer, Loud. Simply, FatHeads is a bar that serves people who are used to and accept substandard mediocrity, however, I have gone there time and time again for the Belgian Beers and the wings and always ask myself why I went back because each time is a huge dissapointment.

Over the last year, and particularly on my last three visits to FatHeads, I have noticed a marked decrease in quality of food and service, and the lack of training on the part of your staff.

Environment:

The Pittsburgh bar is spread out over four distinct areas: An outside patio, two inside seating areas, and a bar. The place is an acoustic nightmare. Whoever designed the place decided to use hard surfaces everywhere and failed to put in any acoustic sound suppression. The result is that every clink, every sound, every song, every scream is heard. What happens then is everyone raises their voices because they can't hear one-another, resulting in a deafening roar that is on-par with standing in the front-row of a Metallica concert. If you don't like noisy environments, skip this place and go up the street to Smokin Joes.

Filthy Restrooms:

The mens room is disgusting.   No one is keeping it in order, it's filthy and it appears that no one is emptying the trash or cleaning up the urine from around the seat and the floor adjacent to the toilet.  I am actually concerned about using it to wash my hands before eating, not to mention that it looks terrible.   If they allow their public rest rooms to look this bad, imagine what the kitchen looks like ! ! !

Poor Customer Service, Rude Staff:

The staff is not trained in any way, other than at the cash register. They have no concept of customer service and get mad at you if you ask where your food or beer is. The women waitresses are too busy flirting with the guys to notice you, and get mad when you try to get their attention. If you are there with a group, you might get attention. However, if your thinking of going there with your date, FORGET IT. You will be completely embarrassed at the scene and service.

Long Wait Times / Slow Service:

If there is a larger table next to you they will service them exclusively and will get to you only when you complain. Food is not served properly in that they bring it whenever it's ready. The end result is that some people in your party may be finished with their meal before you even get yours. They do this with the beer too, especially if you mix and match drafts and bottles. They will invariably come at different times, usually about 15 minutes apart.

I ordered wings and a sandwich, and both came nearly 40 minutes after I ordered them. WIngs, not filet mignon ! ! !

Questionable Food Quality.

The last two times I've gone there, the vegetables that come with the wings were dried out, obviously sitting around for days. The foot is consistent, great sometimes, other times sopping wet with grease. The wings sometimes arrive right out of the cooker, hot and tasty, and other times they arrive after obviously sitting under a heat-lamp. I've complained, however they never once offered to remedy the problem.

When I ordered an expensive Belgian Beer, it took around 20 minutes to arrive, and when it did, it came without a glass, a major faux pas for those who like Belgians. When I asked for a glass, the waitress seemed bothered, and huffed away, returning with a glass covered with suds from the dishwasher. She didn't even wipe them off. And they never once offered to refill my drinks.

Obviously, there is no qualified management there, or they just have no clue. I used to like the place better, but it seems as if they are going down hill, but the acceptance of mediocrity in the sea of choices always astounds me. If you want good food and Belgian Beer, walk up the street to Smokin Joes, or ride out to the Sharp Edge in East Liberty. You will have a better time and get better service.

Great beer, one good bartender. I live in the soutside, so I know about every bar and all of the happenings going on around here. So abvously, I've been to Fat heads a few times (enough to know the bar tenders names). Joe, is the one and only bar tender that actually wants to b there. The other ones seem to not care about their job. Miserable, pms-y women are the ones you will encounter so, watch out! And don't even think about smokin joes for a good beer on the weekend, because you will get unfriendly service(even though your a regular) and a crowded atmosphere. Try hofbrauhaus, or cupkas 2 for a good time around here!

Good beer, good food. Good draft beer selection, but when their out of a beer, there's no back up in a bottle like Smokin Joes down the street. Every thing I've ever eaten from here has always been good except for the chicken artichoke dip, the chicken tasted like tuna. More often than not, the service is crappy, but I still go back for the beer and atmosphere.

Great for the serious beer lover. You can't beat the beer selection in this bar. They have a lot of great beers on tap and even collaborate with Rogue to do their own. Problem is there are a lot of blacks and kiikes that go here. Try their wings, they are incredible.
