nice hair cuts.
I've been going to Philip Pelusi in Monroeville mall for about a year now. I go to school in NY so I go when I come home on breaks. I've never had trouble getting an appointment however I'll go to any of the stylists (I always ask for the cheaper ones). I've never had the same stylus twice, but all the ones I've had give really nice, even cuts. I don't color my hair so I can't comment on the coloring services. The last girl I had took a long time to cut my hair, but she was new and I could tell she wanted to do a nice job on it.
My only complaint about this salon is that they are never on time. The longest I've waited was 50 minutes past my scheduled appointment for a hair cut. Luckily I had nothing better to do and if it is going to be a while they'll tell you to go roam the mall and come back. They do push products on you, but I find it easy to say no.
Overall this is a great salon, a little pricey, but they give nice cuts and are very willing to work with you. I always get complements on my hair cuts from this salon.
Great cut. I've tried many different people all over pittsburgh, but I've only had luck at Pelusi salons. Prices for the cuts aren't too bad, depending on who does your hair. Coloring services are pricey though. My only major complaint is that when I went recently, the girl hit me in the eye really hard with the comb, which caused my eye to be swollen and red all day, and they didn't even offer a discount in return! She did do a great job though. Their products are pricey too and they defintiely push people to buy. I use the potion, but one bottle has lasted me 6 months already. i'd recommend to anyone
Wasted Waaaay too Much $$$ and Time. I asked for CARAMEL highlights with the stylist I had went to already-3x's...I received almost WHITE highlights - went back and another stylist glossed over my entire head so that I was back to square one - hundreds of dollars for original hair screw-up, free for correction. Went back weeks later with stylist who fixed hair and again asked for CARAMEL/Light Brown-lowlights, ...would you believe there was AGAIN the ultra light blonde with yes caramel highlights...with my light to medium brown roots though I looked as if I tried to do it myself and they blatantly did not blend..of course he scrunched my hair and I didn't notice how severe the light highlights against my roots were until my daughter started giggling when we went into the sunshine outside of the mall. NEVER AGAIN....I didn't even ask them to correct it - I bought some color at the drugstore.
You must be kidding!. This is just another chop shop. The folks here are amateurs at best. My results were very unsatisfactory. It is strictly a retail environment where the staff tries to sell you unnecssary products and services. The basic price is reasonable, but they pad it with things that you aren't even sure they did. There are many other places in the Monroeville area that do a much better job.
I value my hair. I was afraid to go anywhere to get my hair cut, but I needed one bad (after 4yrs). I decided to call to make an appointment. The person on the other end asked if I wanted someone more experienced (well Duh). I've been going there now for 3yrs. and still have the same stylist. I tried going somewhere else (that was closer to my house), but they couldn't do it right. Not like my stylist at Philip Pelusi, Monroeville.
