Worst Customer Service Ever.
they have the worst service. Waiting time is atleast 45 minutes to get your order. hopeless place.
Avoid - Avoid - Avoid - Avoid - Avoid - Avoid - Avoid - Avoid
Go to another restaurant instead
Best S. Indian in the area. Food is great, particularly the dosa. Service varies. If you go with low service expectations, you will have a good experience.
Good Food - Baddd or Worst Customer Service..
The food is good but the customer service is the worst I have seen in the US. I had very bad experiences went I went to Udipi.
One of the guys was slamming the kitchen door when I was waiting at the billing counter.
next time, the same guy forgot to take the order after he seated me. I waited for 15 mins and after I understood that they forgot to take the order I got up and went away !! reminding him that he forgot to take the order. To my surprise he did not even say anything but kept quite.

The finest vegetarian Indian cuisine we have ever had!. My wife and I travel on business most weekends all across the United States. There still isn't a better Indian restaurant than Udipi. We have been there dozens of times and have been overwhelmed every time by the balance and quality of their food. We haven't had a thing on the menu I wouldn't recommend. Order the baigan bartha and the masala dosa, get some chana masala too! We always start with a cup of rasam, very spicy and very wonderful. This restaurant is not about location nor ambiance, forget about it. Go for the food! I was a chef for many years and my wife was a waitress for 15 years, we know and love food. You won't be disappointed.
Outstanding. The restaurant is a bit hard to find, and the decor does not make this ideal for a date, but the food is truly remarkable. Every course, particularly from the specialty menu, is authentic, fresh, and tasty. The service was courteous and quick, and the prices make this one of the best bargains in all of Pittsburgh.
GREAT FOOD. Some damn good South Indian food. It's cheap therefore the service isn't going to be the best, but who cares, the food is soooo good, and you pay next to nothing for it!
Service polite, but inattentive...food good...BYOB.
The restaurant is about 1 on a 1 to 10 scale for atmosphere.
The service seems to be geared to folks who don't like a lot of attention.
The price is right.
The food is good. Good place to eat if you are a vegatarian or vegan.
There is no other South Indian in the area
Service sucks. Food is OK.
I liked this restaurant when I first went there a couple of months before. But since then, I have been noticing the service and quality consistently going down.
A couple of my colleagues went to this place today but were disappointed with the quality of food. Most of the dishes served weren't warm and there was absolutely no salt in the chutney.
We tried to provide a honest opinion about this, so that they can improve but were shocked when the guy at the counter said we are falsely claiming stuff and everything does taste good!!
I can't understand why these guys think twice before talking to a customer.
I AM NEVER EVER GOING THERE AGAIN!!!
May be this is an isolated incident but sad that they lost 3-4 customers for ever! This is what monopoly does to service.
