Cheaters of 1st order-Check u're bill before paying. The most pathetic Indian restaurant around.Food was expensive & tasting like cooked out of Rasoi Magic masala packets. When the bill came in, we discovered that each dish was charged $1 extra apart from the cost mentioned on the menu card. When asked for an explanation, the manager and waiters got extremely aggressive and gave me $1 back, abused me in Hindi and kicked me out without giving me my bill.Cheaters of the 1st order!!!!! Advice- There are other good Indian restaurants who are ethical, treat customers well and serve good food.

Eh.. I've been there twice. The first time was wonderful! I took my Father with me, and we had prompt service and fast food. Awesome! The second time, an Indian family of six entered the restaurant just after my Boyfriend and it, and they were seated, given drinks and had their orders taken before we were even given place settings. We waited to be served, and ended up walking out without even water.

The food is good, though, I hate to give a negative review based on improper waitstaff prioritization.

DON'T EVER, EVER LEAVE A TIP IN THIS RESTAURANT - read to see why!!!!. I have been eating in this restaurant for many years and have found out that they do not allow their service staff to keep their tips!!! The restaurant keeps the money!!!!!!!!!!!! So whatever you have paid for your meal, add the tip to the price of that because that is exactly what is happening at this place!!!!!!!!! They told me they pay the staff much more than "waitstaff pay" but I don't believe that, because I have very rarely seen the same server for more than one month!!!!!!!!!!! I work in the foodservice industry, I am a chef, and think that this just WRONG!!!!!!!

Good Value for money. Good variety of food for what you pay for the buffet..... But be warned once you have the buffet you wont want to go in on a non buffet day as it is a little pricey. On a Tuesday they have a vegetarian day and not being veggie I would still recommend it as there is a lot of different dishes to try and the food is cooked well. The only thing I find about here is the naan are always really dry and crispy and the staff only give you fresh ones if you ask. Staff and service is pretty good and I eat here at least 2 times a month. Not the best best curry house in the world but worth a try.

Loved it!!!!. I almost did not go to the India Garden after reading some of the poor reviews on this site. I am totally a Taj Mahal kinda gir, so I know some good Indian cookin. Looking for a place to eat in Monroville online, I decided on Darbur Indian resturant because of the bad reviews of India Garden on this site. Unfortunatly, Darbur was closed when I went about 2 weeks ago on a Monday. Anyways, I reluctantly went to the India Garden. I was SO impressed! And annoyed that I almost dident go. Being a vegetarian, I was very happy with the veggie items on the buffet. It was half veggie and half with meat. I am more than satisfied with these options (obviously, because I ate 2 heaping plates full and am completely stuffed with delicious veggie Indian food as I write....yumm!!) I thought the place very clean and the staff friendly and prompt. I think that the people writing poor reviews need to consider that these people are just trying to make a living, and they are doing a great job at putting out an awesome indian spread. They don't deserve the negativity. Please go and enjoy this wonderful indian resturant and disregard the cranky complainers who had any thing bad to say about this place.

India Garden Restaurant. India Garden's lunch buffet is a good value. My wife and I like its offerings as well as any in the Pittsburgh area. We are vegetarian and agree that there are relatively few veggy offerings on the regular buffet. Ordering from the dinner menu is a bit pricey, but not out of sight. The service, in our experience, is average. The lack of Southern Indian cuisine is to be expected. There is at least one Indian restaurant in Oakland which specializes in South Indian for those who prefer it..

Lots of great food, annoying Indian music videos, average price. The food here has been great every time I've gone. Unlike the other reviewers, I've had no problem with the service there. Once the waiter even went against the policy of no separate checks and did the math by hand in order to accomodate my friends and me. It's a bit pricey (avg 12 dollars or so for a satisfying meal) so if you're low on cash Cici's is the better option. But, if you want good Indian food and you're in Monroeville, this is a really good bet.

Awful experience. I've been to this particular location MANY times and it seems that there is always a problem. I had one server who wouldn't leave me a lone and came by literally every minute or so to ask me how everything was and more recently, because he isn't there anymore perhaps, it's hard to get someone to come to your table at all. I had a particularly bad experience last night. I ordered my usual and made sure to tell the server that I was allergic to dairy and let him know to please use vegetable oil in my food, not ghee, paneer, milk, etc. He actually argued with me a little bit until I said, "please, just no diary, it will make me very, very sick. My girlfriend and I got our appetizers, which were ok, I think they changed the recipe and then our food came. I began eating my meal only to realize that they had put butter on the naan. I asked him to just take it off the check. He did so but not without getting very angry and storming off. To top it off, about 20 minutes after leaving the restaurant, the stomach pains began! Apparently they had used ghee in my food afterall. The atmosphere is typical, the food is just ok and the service is horrific. If you want to go to a great indian place, it's further, but worth it...Star of India on Craig Street in Oakland. It tops India Garden, hands down!

Aviod if you can. Very bad ethics, cheating.unpolite to customers.. Avoid if you can. Very bad ethics, cheating.unpolite to customers. On Christmas day we went . They overcharged us.When we asked them they said they increased the price. They are fraued, Cheats. The lady manager fights with customers and raises voice and makes scenes ,hoping customers will leave without asking too many questions. These people have no manners. They do not think that customers are paying them and making their living.

Overall, bad experience. There are other Indian resturants in town, such as Taj Mahal, where food is good. Customers are treated like a guests.

The BEst Indian Restaurent In Pittsburgh. My Visit to India Garden Monroeville was truly great.

I visited the restaurant on Tuesday the 20th of June and they greeted me with a very warm welcome and then asked for my choice between the buffet or the Menu. Ofcourse i wanted to go with the menu as planned in my mind that i would enjoy the Garlic bread with Chicken Tikka Masala but, i wanted to see the buffet also. I asked the gentleman and he he told me that on tuesday a lot of Indian People visit Mandir (Hindu Religious Temple) So, because of that they have a all vegeterian Buffet on every tuesday from 5:00 Pm to 9:30 Pm. I highly recommend the buffet as because they are preety big. 16 to 20 Items and all vegeterian. The Items include the one i liked the most was mix vegetables Prepared in Clay oven and served on the grill. The Atmoshere is good both for the Buffet and the Menu. I do recommend watching the Indian SOngs as because sometimes you can't understand but yet they seem Interesting as they were to me and the gentleman also told me that i can buy the DvD's from next door to India Garden from an Indian Grocery Store which was the biggest and the best Indian Grocery store i have seen in Pittsburgh. THe best restaurent and the biggest Grocery store right next door to each other( they are both far better than their OAKLAND rivals)

i like to gather a lot of information so that i can share with other people and so i asked a waiter again and he told me they have lunch buffet everyday from 11:30 to 3:00 in which they serve many non-Vegeterian and Vegeterian Items. and then in weekdays they have menu which just went on and on with the number of items served ( 4 or 5 American or Italian Menu will equal their 1) and then they also have the Dinner buffet on the sundays.

The best thing is that you can enjoy the buffet in restaurent or can also carryout the buffet in a reasonably big container and you get the bread on side which is prepared in the Clay oven.

I highly recommend this restaurent for kids.
