Tips for Olive Garden

Olive Garden in Monroeville Takes a Nose Dive. Look guys, I would truly avoid this place. Overall, the food quality was poor. Years ago, I went to the Olive Garden at least once a month now I frequent it from time to time.

Expect cold food, inaccurate orders and poor service if you order out. Inside the portions are smaller yet cost the same, and the environment is not as lively as it once was but service is a little better but overall, the Olive Garden has taken a nose dive. Worst service yet in Monoreville when compared to other restaurants.

Traditional dishes and all -you-can-eat salad, soup and bread sticks are the draw at this upscale-casual Italian restaurant.. In Short
Established in 1982, this chain gained a following for its laid-back atmosphere and generous portions. Patrons settle into comfortable booths and tables in dining rooms with plants, artwork and décor reminiscient of the villas in the Tuscan countryside. Starters include scampi, sausage or pepperoni pizza, and several soup choices, as well as a signature seafood dip (crab, shrimp, cheese and marinara). Entrees include classics like lasagna, fettuccine Alfredo and chicken parmigiana. There are also "Garden Fare" options, which promise 30 percent fewer calories.

Best in the city???. How can Olive Garden be voted best italian in the city of Pittsburgh??? What is wrong with you people? The fast food manner in which their food prepared and presented is a slap in the face to any Italian grandmother... and the Olive Garden's "Italiano" marketing should be the ultimate insult to every true Italian out there...

Jarred Sauce. I feel that this spaghetti sauce tastes like it came out of a jar that you buy in the grocery store. I love their salads and breadsticks, but not their pasta.

Try Again!. If you want fast food italian this is your place. Otherwise, choose again. Try Alexander's in Bloomfield and see if the Olive Garden even comes close.

upscale fast food. Who would even rank chain food as the "best" of anything !!! Prepared a week ago by a machine, portion controled and reheated in a microwave certainly dosen't sound like it even deserves consideration.

A Chain #1?. In a city with strong ethnic heritage, I find it pathetic that the top Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh is Olive Garden. For anyone who has eaten Nona's homemade sauce, the Olive Garden is FAR worse than second-rate. While I don't object to Olive Garden for what it is, I find it hard to believe that it provides the best Italian food in the 'Burgh!

is this Italian?. My husband and I don't like the tomato/marinara sauce. It doesn't taste like homemade; more like it's from a can. We both like the tossed salad, and breadsticks
