This park's uniqueness is best summed in one word: buffalo.. The Skinny
A small herd of North American bison, affectionately known to locals as the "South Park buffalo," have been an integral part of the nature center since arriving in the 1930s, offering visitors an opportunity to view a living piece of American history. Another of the park's main attractions is the BMX course. It's a hot gathering spot for families and individuals who walk, bike, jog and skate alongside the generous shoulders of the park's main route, Corrigan Drive, where motorists courteously maintain the 25mph speed limit.

More Fun
South Park has a wave pool, a golf course, a skating rink and tennis courts. A popular summer picnic spot offers seasonal live outdoor entertainment. Nearby is South Park Theatre, a quaint theater featuring local productions. The newly renovated children's playground designed for small and bigger kids is top-notch with parents.

Beautiful Memories!!. I live in Michigan, but grew up in Pgh. South Park holds many beautiful memories for me. Its natural habitat is beautiful. I just visited the park last summer and I wasn't disappointed in what I saw there. It was everything I remembered and more. The rolling hills, the out of the way picnic areas, the wild flowers in the fields and much much more.
