The Skinny – A small herd of North American bison, affectionately known to locals as the "South Park buffalo," have been an integral part of the nature center since arriving in the 1930s, offering visitors an opportunity to view a living piece of American history. Beautiful Memories!!

I live in Michigan, but grew up in Pgh. South Park holds many beautiful memories for me. Its natural habitat is beautiful. I just visited the park last summer and I wasn't disappointed in what I saw there. It was everything I remembered and more. The rolling hills, the out of the way picnic areas, the wild flowers in the fields and much much more.
- Pros: Easy to find., very inexpensive, many pavilions
