THE BEST ICE CREAM EVER!. Handel's is THE BEST ice cream you can get, period. I have tried many great ice creams, but this is, by far, the pinnacle of all ice cream. The only improvement Handel's could make is to open more locations.

Century III is about the last place you'd expect to find great ice cream.. The Scene
A franchise based on Handel's of Youngstown, Ohio, the concept is simple: the best, richest ice cream possible. Yet there it stands, right off Lebanon Church Road. At Handel's, there are a couple of benches, but most people drive up, get their cones, and cruise. Handel's was selected by USA Today as one of the "top ten great places for ice cream."

The Food
On any given day, there are about 50 flavors of ice cream alone, plus lowfat yogurts, ices, sherbets, and even fat-free sugar-free ice cream. Another standout is Spouse Like a House: malted vanilla ice cream with peanut butter veins and chopped up chocolate-covered pretzel log pieces. In addition, try the malted milk shakes of the hurricanes, different candies stirred into your favorite ice cream. A favorite flavor is Snappy Turtle, a chocolate caramel concoction laced with pecans.

caramel cashew not ugh. this is the best ice cream ever made. hard choice between snappy turtle and caramel cashew. the ices are great too

Located Behind Busy Beaver.... Located in obscurity behind lumber yard Busy Beaver and Complete Fitness Gym, Handel's Ice Cream offers the best Ice Cream and Shakes in town. Many flavors, and the choice of cones, cups, or "Hurricanes." Also, try the "Orange-cicle Shake." Excellent shakes, and the girls are cute, too!

#1. Handel's Ice cream is the absolute best around Pgh and anywhere! I don;t live too close to it anymore since I moved but I always come back to the area just for their chocolate ice cream! It's the best!
