Breakfast is the Best.
I eat here at least once a week when I'm in town, and I have yet to be disappointed. The #2 breakfast with orange juice is more than I can eat for less than $7. Delicious home fries (get them with peppers and onions), eggs cooked to order and an array of breakfast meat selections make this a favorite. The ham is real home-style, thick-sliced, baked ham, full of flavor. Mancini bread is also available. The poached eggs are perfectly cooked, with a thickly runny yolk. Breakfast specials are available on the weekend.
If you're not in the mood for breakfast fare, the lunch selections are also good. Daily lunch specials are available through the week, and don't miss the homemade soups. Typical lunch specials might include meatball hoagie, BLT, meatloaf sandwich, grilled reuben or other sandwich on Tuesday and Wednesday, rigatoni, spaghetti or lasagna on Thursday, and fish sandwich on Friday. The grilled chicken or steak salad is typical Pittsburgh - a huge bowl of lettuce, tomato, egg, etc., with grilled meat and fries on top.
They also offer an array of standard hoagies and sandwiches that look good, but I've not had them.
Rea's is closed on Monday, and is open for breakfast and lunch other days. Cash only, no checks or credit / debit cards.
