Are u kidding me? GROSS!. Some of these people who eat here have no idea what goes on here. The kitchen staff is gross and thats putting it lightly...Ive rarely seen them clean anything and when they do its usually taking out all the lunch meats and placing them on the counter..Don and Tony care about money and little else. Lots of crazy druggie drunks in this place. Always has and seemingly always will as long as the cops want DUI revenue.

The one to beat in Pittsburgh. There is no better pizza to be had in Pittsburgh. Don't know about the restaurant as I always get delivery, but 4 out of 5 times this is the best pizza you've ever had. The 5th time you feel like they were waiting on the fresh pepperoni and mushroom truck, but if you do some soul searching, you realize you're only upset because they've got you used to having your expectations so high. I feel like everyone knows me when I call and when the delivery person shows up. Just good, decent people working there and you can tell. As for other reviews, I don't care who smokes where - people are too uptight. Seriously! Going to a pizza-specializing restaurant and expecting a trendy uptown atmosphere is delusional behavior. I'd rather have good food and leave my pretense at the door. I want to try their other food, but I'll have to wait until I can eat there, as non-pizza/calzone items do not travel well no matter where you get them.

Delicious food at Bellisario's. We are a professional couple and have eaten at Bellisario's for years, usually at the bar. The crowds change...Sometimes there are younger people but when we go there is usually a mix of middle-aged people of varying backgrounds, white collar, blue collar...just like the rest of Pgh. The food is absolutely delicious....Scrod siciiano...unique and wonderful house dressing...homemade ravioli...eggplant stuffed w/ spinach and sausage...fish sandwich.....just a few of our favorites. The staff is very friendly and accomodating and the draft beer is cheap.

If you are looking for a well decorated, high-end refined bar....this isn't it. If you want a true neighborhood bar and don't mind restrooms that definitely need a facelift and can deal with seeing the owner smoke, ...try Bel's.

Best Pizza Around!. I've read the other reviews. They are all right about Bellisarios. The owner is cocky. They do smoke in the kitchen. The bar is stuffed with locals (although I disagree that they are all uneducated). Last but certainly not least, they have the BEST pizza in Pittsburgh.

I've lived in New Haven, the supposed birth place of pizza. I've had Sally's Apizza. I've been to Chicago and had their deep dish pizza. The only place I haven't been is to Naples, but it is on my list. So you can say I am a bit of a pizza snob. Bellisarios is THE BEST in Pittsburgh, trust me.

My Italian husband summed it up best when we walked in there the first time. He said, "This place smells like my grandmother's kitchen."

Disgusting and Rude. We usually have the food from Bells delivered and their pizza is good, but tonight I stopped in to pick up an order and two of the cooks were smoking while prepping food!!!! I was disgusted and told the owner I was not going to take my food because they were smoking while prepping and he gave me a cocky wave with a 'bye-bye'. Well that bye-bye is goodbye to your business and negative word-of-mouth. If they are that open with such unsanitary habits imagine what else they get away with that we don't see. Where is the health inspector?

Best White Pizza in Pittsburgh!. As a non-smoker, I can say I would never eat inside this restaurant/bar. It's definitely a suburban Pittsburgh atmosphere with the local alcoholics chain smoking by the bar, and you get a general sense of what your life would be like if you hadn't attended college and/or never had anything motivate you except cigarettes and booze. However, the drinks are absurdly cheap. I think a greygoose and soda was $1.25 or something ridiculous. Too bad I feel so out of place there that I would rather spend $12.00 for the same drink somewhere in Shadyside. However, despite all these things, you will not find a white pizza in Pittsburgh better than the one made here (and I've pretty much tried everywhere). Maybe the it's nicotine that gets trapped in the pizza while it's cooking, or maybe it's just a damn good recipe. Whatever it is, unless I see the cook taking a dump, wiping his a ss, and then handling my white pizza, I don't care what he does to make that thing. As long as it keeps on being as delicious as it is every time I order it.

Unsanitary. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. When I went to pickup my take out order, the cook was smoking. It is completely unsanitary and has unfriendly service. It is bad enough for a non smoker to eat in a smoky environment, let alone the cook is chain smoking while he cooks your food. I will never go back there and I think the department of Public Health should be notified for this unsafe and unsanitary atmosphere. It is not safe for anyone and the food did not taste good at all.
