Spas >Above All Grand Salon & Spa
Worst salon in Wexford. I have been going to this salon on and off for 15 years, since they were in their original location. The receptionists seem as though they'd rather spit on you as wait on you. I've had multiple hair dressers over the years. All do an okay job, nothing spectacular. Once I had to wait over 40 minutes past my appointment time for a hair cut. No one acknowledged my wait unless I asked how much longer it would be. I finally left. The hairdresser did call to apologize but that was the last straw. I haven't been back since. I don't appreciated being treated like scum, especially when their price list in not cheap. Save your money and go elsewhere.
love this salon. just moved to the area and was very nervous I wouldnt find a decent salon. Decided to try this one and I love my hair. My stylist name was Mia. I would recomend her especially for color. But she gave me a nice cut as well.
Cathy is great!.
She does everything: hair, manicures and pedicures and she does them very well.
Great Salon in the North Hills.
I have been going there for about a year or so. I have only gone for manicures, pedicures and brow waxing. I can't complain about any of my services. Mandy has always done my nails, and they always come out looking fabulous!
The staff is friendly when making appointments and when I'm at the salon. I would highly recommend this salon if you are looking for a salon in the North Hills.
Great Salon for nails.
I have been going to Above All for about a year to get my nails done and Taralee has never let me down.
I never feel like my manicures or pedicures are being rushed. My nails look great and I leave feeling like it was well worth it!
Great Salon in the Wexford Area.
I have been a client of Above All for MANY years. The salon is beautiful, well stocked and relaxing. I particulary LOVE my Stylinist Andrea. She continues to using "cutting edge" techinques to make me and my hair be that best it can be.
Highly recommend the salon
Superior Service - Welcoming Attitude.
My first experience with Above All was exceptional. Everyone, beginning with the receptionists, was fantastic.
The salon is spotless, gorgeous and relaxing. The holiday decor is well done.
My hair stylist, Ann, actually listened to what I wanted. She made some suggestions about cut and color that I took her up on and I am very happy with the results. Ann was personable, professional and excellent with color. I was very comfortable with her immediately. I look forward to our next appointment.
Stephanie did my fill-in and pedicure. Again, she was personable and I was treated professionally and made to feel right at home. She did a great job. The pedicure and foot/leg treatments were heavenly! I look forward to my next appointment with her, too.
Janine did my brows. Since I'd just had a facial peel with Cynthia I couldn't have a brow wax or tint. Janine had to do it the old-fashioned way using tweezers. She did a nice job shaping my brows and getting those unruly white ones under control. Janine took great care to make sure that the tweezing wasn't too ouchy. I am pleased with the outcome and will most likely look into eyelash extensions some time soon.
My facial peel was performed by Cynthia. She is absolutely terrific. She took the time to throughly educate me on what was going to happen, the products that she'd be using and what to expect during and after the treatment. The after treatment products actually do what they promise and make the skin feel wonderful.
A few days after the peel Cynthia called to check up on how I was doing, how the after treatment products were working and answered some questions that I had. I will be doing a series of peels with her and am already looking forward to my January 2012 appointment.
Above All certainly lived up to its name. I highly recommend this salon/spa to anyone who wishes to do something extra special for themselves, family member or friend.
Cost is in line with other higher end salons and spas.
Not friendly/un organized. Needless to say it was not a friendly atmosphere. It was my first time and last time that I will ever walk in those doors. The girl at the front desk was miserable. After I was sent back to wait there was all this confusion on who had who and what was going on.... Seriously how hard is it to know who your next apt is?? I was not formally introduced to the person who was going to wax me. That right there shows a lot. How the place has the name ABOVE ALL GRAND SALON .... please take a step down and remove the above all part because truly your not. Its a beautiful place with UGLY attitudes! Also you may want to consider hiring "new" staff for the front more along the lines of happy and professional :)
Barbie is the best!!!!.
While I hesitate to give her away to everyone because I would NEVER get in with her, I feel I have to tell everyone about her amazing styles, her gifted artistry and the fact that she really loves what she does and you can tell. I feel amazing when I leave there!!
She cares about the young staff she works with that she apparently helps train and does fabulous updos and Pittsburgh's own HOLLYWOOD hair. I have used her for longer than 10 years and have always loved my hair.......She is worth the wait!!!
Overall great place just not happy with one stylist.
I have been going to Above All for about 2 years. I have been going to Sheana for my cuts for the past year or so. I love how she cuts my hair and I am always happy when I leave.
The only negative thing that I have to say is: Last May I made an appt. on a Saturday with Barbie (Shaena was not available which was ok with me) to have my hair curled for a wedding. I got to my appt. on time and waited for almost 20-25 minutes for Barbie to come and get me. It was a Saturday and they were busy with high school proms, I understand that but I wished someone would have told me that she was running behind. She came to get me and we discussed how I wanted my hair and she proceeded to gossip about a certain stylist in the salon for quite sometime and making a nasty face at this particular stylist when he walked by. She was also going on and on about issues she had with other staff members. I was feeling rather uncomfortable. She just seemed very unprofessional but in the end I loved how she did my hair, was happy and on my way. I just chalked it up to a crazy day.
Just last week (Saturday April 2 Appt. time 3:30) I had an event to go to and I wanted my hair done. I was unable to get my regular stylist and they had an appt. with Barbie again. I was hesitant but took it anyway. It was like a flashback to last year: She was almost 20 minutes late - They had to page her twice and then an assistant came back and had me sit near her station while she finished up her client - She began gossiping about a stylists' boyfriend who was in the salon and their relationship, telling me to lean over and take a peak at him. She was pulling one of the assistants aside to gossip with her about this stylist and boyfriend, taking a second to put the curling iron down to talk ... When the assistant walked away she briefly said something negative about her.
It went beyond the normal chit chat you hear in a salon. Again, I was uncomfortable while sitting there.
It came up during my appt. that she was the manager of the salon --- I was floored!
In the end I didn't say anything b/c I was ok on time, just barely getting out of there in enough time to go home and get ready.
I will not go back to Barbie again. I gave her a second chance thinking that last year was just a bad day but unfortunately it was not.
Overall I have had great experiences at the salon and spa and will continue to go back.
