Named after the daughter of amiable founder Dave Thomas, this Ohio-based chain is more inviting than your typical fast-food joint, thanks to comforting touches like carpeted floors, Tiffany-style lamps and plenty of foliage. The signature square burgers are made-to-order; chicken sandwiches are available grilled or fried. Thick fries, meaty chili and stuffed baked potatoes round out a menu that includes a cool, ultra-thick chocolate Frosty.

Super fast drive thru. As far as fast food goes, this place gets our thumbs up. The drive thru service is lightening fast. And they never screw our order up. The food always seems fresh and hot, unlike some competitors right down the street that serve nastiness, whose name I won't mention. The servers are always friendly and smiling too, never rude and obnoxious.

A mixed bag. Sometimes I find Wendy's to be a great place to grab a quick bite with fresh food and friendly service. Then other times, I find the food to be stale and the staff to be downright rude. Things like not even responding to me after I say "Thank you" to them, only a blank stare like it's my fault that they don't want to be there. I guess it's the luck of the draw with some restaurants, and Wendy's is one of these.
