You'll waste your time with Computer Literates. I dropped a laptop motherboard off on a Thur to have a new charging port soldered on. I provided them the port and board, pretty simple job I just don't know how to solder. The guy at the counter said "a day or two", 8 Days later I called in because I hadn't heard from them. He said they didn't have it done but it would be by the end of the day (Friday).

I show up Sat afternoon and once they located my equipment they said "they didn't do anything too it". I was shocked, I need this computer for a week long trip on Monday and now I can't get it fixed in time. It looks like they may have tried to remove the old port but didn't know what to do.

The 2 men there had many excuses from "I haven't been here all week" that's why It took so long, "I tested it and it was getting a charge" (I wasn't bringing them the board for troubleshooting, all they needed to do was remove the old port and put the new one on). Once I asked to speak to a manager or someone in charge the kid told me "I wasn't going to be welcome back there" basically if I didn't deal with their excuses.

Poor communication and customer service, also can't follow instructions.

Not very responsive. I go to a restaurant the other day and they were 10 minutes late making my pizza. So, the owner comes out, apologizes profusely and sincerely, then offers to give us our dessert on the house.

10 minutes late. The owner comes to me.

At Computer Literates, I paid what 100 pizzas cost- and it took a MONTH longer for them to build my computer than I was told it would.

After maybe a day or two, you would think that they would've called me to tell me they weren't going to be on time. I had to call them to ask what was up.

A month late....and I'm the one who had to call.

Will I go back to the restaurant? Yes. Will I go back to Computer Literates? Can't say.

Worth the wait. I have bought 5 systems from Computer Literates/ Computer Literates II. All with a 3 year warranty. If I had any problems, they were taken care of with NO HASSLE! Just be aware, This is not a puppy mill. Every computer is build to your needs and it may take a little longer, but in the end it is worth it.

Computer Literates feedback. I have had them do real problem solving as well as upgrades & "tune-ups over the last 3+ years. Always up-front and complete with the work they did.

A bit slow but worth waiting for the extra day - so that it got checked-out / given a test drive before I picked it up.

Vague and Petty !!!. All fees and total costs not disclosed due to poor communication. When I was given verbal cost of repair, no mention was made for additional hourly labor. I was very explicit asking what the repair cost covered as I did not want to pay additional. When I was called to pick up the laptop, hourly rate was added. When I balked at the cost they pulled the harddrive, erased the software and handed me the empty harddrive. Very petty and unprofessional. They then charged for bench time when I chose not to give in to the additional hourly rate that was not disclosed originally. Will not do business with again.
