Fields of HORROR!!!. Do NOT, under any circumstances, buy your flowers here.

I went into the store and ordered a basket for my grandmother's funeral. I felt SURE it would be beautiful as I picked out an arrangement from a book. I had three minor changes - I didn't want the urn that was in the PHOTO, I instead wanted one of the large brown baskets from the sample arrangements Tom (the florist) showed to my family. Instead of red gerberas, I wanted dark pink. And instead of roses, I wanted lilies. Absolutely NO roses, I repeated. Tom assured me that there would be no roses.

Needless to say, when the funeral arrived, I saw an ugly white spray-painted LITTLE basket with NO gerberas, a few lilies and a TON of roses. I called immediately. After a lengthy, but polite exchange regarding what I had wanted and PAID for, I was told that someone would pick them up and fix them before the next viewing. I even waited for the delivery guy and explained it to him, as well. When I returned, they were STILL in the hideous white basket and there were STILL roses. To Tom's credit, he did add a couple of pink daisies (pale ones) but he also added a TON of tacky weed-like daisies and massive fern filler. Instead of the elegant basket I had ordered, I received the equivalent of a toddler?s bunch of dandelions, thrown haphazardly into a bucket for his mother.

A second call ended with Tom's complete SHREW of a wife Gretchen, yelling at me, essentially calling me a liar, and screaming about coming to pick up her hideous arrangement and giving me my money back. Of course, she knew that I couldn't get any other flowers on time, and that there would be an empty space next to my grandmother's casket. I had NO choice but to keep the terrible thing. You, however, do have a choice to spare yourself the heartache.

Incidentally, they also got my nephew's basket wrong and my mother's spray wrong. I guess they don't believe in writing things down to prevent mistakes or in satisfying customers.
