My husband and I designed our own wedding rings. There was no consideration of other jewelers. I've been dealing with Helfer's for "small" things for a year or so and I've seen the detail they put into other work, so I knew I had the right jeweler. Like other reviews, this isn't a fancy posh store with slick salesmen. This is a true artisan's haven and every single person working there is dedicated to producing the finest jewelry they can. My engagement/wedding ring was made to look like 5 stacked rings with other cast elements in white and yellow gold with sapphires. My husbands has birds inlaid in black in his yellow gold band. We are both artists and it was very important to us to get our own unique designs as well as stay within budget! On top of it all, I only gave them 3 months to get the rings done! We sweated it, but they came thru for us and I started to cry when I picked up my ring. It was just perfect! They all worked with us to help us get the exact thing we wanted. I used my own gold and gems (minus a couple sapphires they had to get for me) and I think I might have come up short but they added enough to finish both rings. In the end, I had what I wanted, in the budget I set for myself, and it was the perfect day! Yes, you should make an appointment - you need that time devoted to just you and your design. Don't just walk in and expect to leave with the perfect ring - this isn't fair to them and it isn't fair to you. I'd recommend them to anyone! Bravo!

Dana helped us beyond our expectations in redesigning my wedding ring. I had no idea what I wanted to do to convert my old ring into something new. Dana was amazing in helping us through the whole process. There were so many options as far as design options. We added a couple new diamonds to what we already had. Dana showed us many many fabulos stones and it was hard to decide which one because they were all beautiful. I could not be more thrilled my new ring for our 10th anniversary.

David I Helfer Jewelers. I want to thank Ira and his Sister Dana on their special attention and personal care they took creating a special memory piece for my Sister, Niece and Brother in Law. The mold they created was beautiful and will give lasting memories of a very special Son, Brother, Cousin and Nephew. Ira & Dana were great to work with and turned our order around quickly and at a very reasonable cost. I fully recommend their services and now I know how they have become a leading Icon in the great Pittsburgh market place.
