It started out as a dead animal smell. I thought for sure something had died in our basement. We searched and searched but found nothing. Then the basement floor drain started to back up when the washing machine spun out. Soon we realized we had a big problem so we called Roto Rooter. Ryan arrived at our house on a Wednesday night and used a snake with camera to diagnose the problem. Our sewer line was blocked so badly that the snake could not get through. Ryan and Charlie came back a day later to dig a hole right where the backup was and try again. After a disgusting battle the Jet guy - Jesse - was able to unclog the blockage and got things flowing again. Unfortunately our pipes are old Terra cotta and they had shifted. Ryan told us it would just be a matter of time before it would back up again. They recommended a partial sewer line replacement using PVC pipe. I won't lie - it wasn't cheap but to see all of the work they did and how well they did it ...I have no doubt it was worth it. Money well spent not to have raw sewage gurgling up into your house. The plumber - Russ - came with his team to dig up about 40-50 feet of yard and pipe and replaced it with the PVC. All of this work took less than a week..it was a huge job. Everyone we interacted with was extremely knowledgeable, professional and very personable. I would HIGHLY recommend Roto Rooter to anyone with a minor or major plumbing issue. Ours was certainly major and they got the job done.

We have worked with a lot of repair companies, contractors, etc. Far and away this was the most efficient, hard working group we have ever encountered. They came EARLY to work, worked hard, and cleaned up. In addition, they were very considerate of noise, parking, and our time frame. The job was completed in LESS time than we expected and exceeded our expectations in terms of quality. Highly recommend Roto-Rooter!

I'm a fairly competent home fixer-upper but raw sewage pouring out of a floor drain at 9 o'clock at night was more than my wife would tolerate. So while I was working on solutions, she called Roto-Rooter.

"Joe" arrived about an hour later, performed a thorough evaluation of the problem and went to work. There was no way I could have done such an effective reparir as good as Roto-Rooter. "Joe" was extremely professional, personable and a heck of a nice guy. What amazed me the most there was no after cleanup compared to the mess I made.

Thank you Roto-Rooter. We are quite pleased.

So it started with a clogged toilet!. So it started with a clogged toilet! Haha. We had bets that it was a toy . I have a 12, 3, and 2 year old. Just a few weeks ago I I found the "missing" cup in the toilet! So we plunged, and plunged, and plunged............no success! So we decided to call Roto-Rooter . Ken Baker came and saved the day. We joked around for awhile, he talked to our three year old that we call "The Mayor" and the boss, and then he started plunging, and plunging and plunging!!!! After awhile he went to the truck and got some kind of gadget that is suppose to get thru anything. Too bad it didn't work. ken had to take the whole toilet apart ( all while my 3 year old girl was singing to him the whole time) ! He found my missing sunscreen that I'm guessing was put in there by the 2 year old who loves the toilet! Thanks Ken for being our "SUPERHERO"!

Our basement drain was overflowing and we called Roto-Rooter on a Tuesday evening. Kenny came to our house at 11:00 that evening, less than two hours after we called. He did a great job and fixed the clog quickly. He was very nice, knowledgeable, and professional, and he cleaned everything up very well afterwards. I highly recommend the Pittsburgh Roto-Rooter.

very impressed!!!. I called Roto Rooter on a Sunday morning--fully expecting to leave a voicemail and have a return call in the next few days. I needed an outdoor connection established for a hose (certainly not an emergency). To my surprise, someone answered and said a technician would be at my house within 2 hours to give me a free, no-obligation estimate. Remaining somewhat skeptical, I waited for the technician to arrive (which he did in the specified time frame) and he gave me a quote of $235--which was FAR less than I expected from an on-call plumber working on a Sunday! He performed the work immediately and was done in about 2 hours! I couldn't be happier with the service and the efficiency of it all REALLY caught me be surprise! The technician was also friendly, efficient, and professional. I would definitely recommend Roto-Rooter to anyone and will certainly use them again if any needs should arrive in my future. No lie, they are by far the most positive experience I have ever had with any sort of repair technician (and I've been a homeowner for a little over 3 years). The technician I worked with was Ken Baker--very very nice man and also did an excellent job! Thank you Ken! My 3-year-old daughter thoroughly enjoyed playing in her pool for the first time yesterday :)

roto-rooter plumber in pittsburgh. i had two clogged toilets and roto rooter sent out a technician the same day and fixed my problems very quickly chris was very helpful and even suggested how to keep the problem from happening again and suggestions for a newer more efficiant toilet. A+

Root-Rooter Plumbers 5/2/12. We had a problem with our drain in the evening. Ken was plumber dispatched from the Pittsburgh office. He had the problem resolved quickly. He was very knowledgeable, efficient and proffessional. We would definitely recommend.

Roto-Rooter Plumbers 4/21/12. We have lived in our home for over 20 years and have had the same re-occurring back up problem with our main septic line. We have had numerous local plumbers service the problem and give us a temporary fix. We finally called Roto Rooter and they sent out Joe/2799 to help us out. He was the most polite and knowledgeable technician we have dealt with. He had our drain unclogged in less than an hour and gave us several ideas of what the problem could be and said to call his company and they could give us a free estimate on actually fixing the problem so it wouldn't keep happening! We will definitely be calling to have an estimate on fixing this problem from Roto Rooter. Again, let me reiterate; Joe was very professional, knowledgeable, helpful and polite.
