Job not well done – To keep this as short and to-the-point as possible, I'll keep this review to only the most important details, which will be difficult given the displeasure with my experience.
I used this florist for my wedding on 10/09/2010 and thought I had been using one of the best florists in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, in my experience, that was just not the case.
Basically, I was charged heavily for things that were not done. I purchased many decorations to be placed at my ceremony and reception that Bill at Design Space agreed to set up, I delivered them and about 10% of it made an appearance on the wedding day. Examples of this are as follows; The florist charged a large set-up fee and not only did he not make any appearance but his worker only dropped the arrangements off and did not set them up, 15 Morrocan lanterns (the theme of the wedding) were not displayed or delivered, 30+ paper lanterns in our wedding colors were not hung in our dinner tent, baskets we purchased for our favors were not there, flowers on our cake the we payed for were no where to be found, 2 lanterns that we payed $50.00 each to have hung and filled with flowers at our ceremony altar were not placed at the altar and had no floral arrangements, special hypo-allergenic tea lights purchased because of my Grandmothers allergies were replaced with cheap ones then only half of the specialty candles were returned to me, a picture with an easel to be displayed on the guest card table was placed in another room placed up against a wall with no sign of the easel...I could go on but I don't want to bore anyone, plus, I think you get my point.
What's worse than all that, which could've been smoothed over with an apology, and explanation and a refund for things wrongfully charged was that when I called the Monday after my wedding, Bill Chisnel would not speak to me and had his assistant call and lie to me by telling me he did no wrong and to blame my venue for these problems, the same venue which uses him as their exclusive florist....very professional. Since that call I have been battling with him for a month and a half via email because he will not speak to me, my husband or his mother (who paid the florist bill). We were offered a refund of less than 10% of our total cost as a "courtesy" while admitting zero wrongdoing 3 weeks ago and I am yet to see that or hear from Bill at all.
So, in closing I will say, if you're looking for a florist in Pittsburgh, look elsewhere. Even if this was an isolated incident, you can rest assured that if this happened to you on your wedding day with this florist, you would not be given any kind of apology or a proper refund....it's not worth it.
