Always happy when I leave - thanks Heather!.
I've been going to Glam for a cut from Heather for 8 months now, and I'm not even thinking about looking somewhere else. Making an appointment is easy, I never have to wait, and everyone there is really nice. As a guy, I don't want getting a haircut to be a production; I just want to be in & out and leave looking good. I get that every time I go to Glam.
The first time I went in, I had just gotten about 10" of rocker hair cut off a month prior, and the woman I let do it at Philip Pelusi in the mall did a nice job, but it was just too plain, too basic. I told Heather, "It's your call, just make me look good with short hair." She did, and keeps doing it, so I keep going back. Heather is chatty and fun, getting all the dirt on my dating life, and I enjoy going.
Thanks Glam and thanks Heather - see you soon!
Not impressed, buyer beware. I had a cut with Ron which I thought was quite good. I did not have such great expeiences with Heather. The first time I had my hair cut, found my hair to be uneven after I got home and had to come back, granted these things happen. What really annoyed me, was the last time I went to Glam, I went for hair color. I essentially asked fo the same color I had the previous visit. It seems Heather decided to add some things without telling me, I guess not such a big deal. But what really upset me, was the day I came for color, I was in a hurry and in fact told her repeatedly that I was going to have to go to Home depote and then home to shower/wash my hair before dinner. She insisted that she wanted to dry it so she could see how the colour turned out. SHe seemed so excited about it, that I said okay but clearly there was no point as I was going to be washing it in a few hours. When I went to pay the bill, it was exorbitant compared to my last visit. She had charged my for the additional hair color, again I can understand that. But what really upset me, was Heather charged me for drying and styling my hair which tacked on another $30.00. She knew fully well that there was no logic in styling my hair; I felt swindled. I will not be returning to Glam just out of principle
Go for Glam!. Just off Walnut on the second floor of a commercial building, the salon intertior itself is elegant, with a minimalist waiting room, polite receptionist, and a refreshing open-concept space for the styling, cutting and washing stations. Colour is applied while you sit around a big table, giving the experience a casual, retro social quality. I walked in about 3 minutes late, and my appointment started right away. I got overall colour and a short cut with Heather and was very pleased with the result. Heather is chatty and very friendly, as well as forthcoming about technical information and products, so I got a great cut and a great time! I'm a pretty demanding customer, needing to be informed and reassured each step of the way and Heather really earned my trust. This girl knows her game! The total came to $90, and the recommended tip is 15-20%. I'll definitely become a Glam regular!
