Best Tailor in Pittsburgh.
Primo tailoring is the best tailor in Pittsburgh, hands down. I actually signed up on this website to write the review. I stumbled upon it when looking for primos phone number. I was shocked to see that the only reviews were negative. The one mentions that Primo told him/her that they should have brought their ticket. How is this negative? They are working with 100s of articles of clothing that are probably organized by number...obviously, they would need the ticket....which is why they give you a copy. They other's gripe was that they paid $18 for a pair of pants. Really? They're complaining about $18? Isn't that pretty standard for a hem...especially if it was a euro hem?
I've been going to Primo for a few years now and what I love about Primo is that quality of the work. If you have nice clothing and care about them, it's definitely worth spending a few extra bucks. He has done some pretty involved work for me and he did it flawlessly. I have had other tailors ruin clothing. I know and trust that this will never happen. Also, the guy who does the measuring (who i'm assuming is the tailor and owner) and the other staff have been nothing less than friendly.
Ask the price first!. Primo's work is very good but his prices are very expensive. Be sure to ask beforehand what his tailoring charges will be for your finished item(s) or you might be very surprised when you pick up your clothing!
Horrible Service and Attitude. I stopped in to Primo to pick up a pair of pants for my girlfriend. A man, apparently the owner, appeared from the back to the front desk after a few minutes. He asked for my "yellow slip". I advised that I didn't have a yellow slip, as I was picking up an item for a friend and provided the name. In a demeaning manner, he told me I should have brought the yellow slip. I advised, had I known, I would have done so. I provided the name instead. He went to the back room and searched for the item, but after 5 minutes, couldn't find it. He came back to me and said, "You should have brought yellow slip. When was items to be ready (in accent)?" I responded "Between 4-6PM, today." He then went back and after another few minutes found my item. He then rang me up, and it was $18 for one pair of pants. I paid cash and asked for a receipt. Guess what? He told me with a negative tone that "yellow slip is my receipt". I told him that his business sucks, and left. Horrible experience. Should picking up a pair of pants be so difficult? My girlfriend was never advised she needed the almighty YELLOW SLIP!
