Fair Service. I've been taking my car in to this location for several years now with no problems. One major repair was my AC compressor...I had received 2 quotes previously, one for $900 and one for $600 for the repair. Monroe was my 3rd stop, and they agreed to match the lower price. When they got into my car, they found out that it wasn't the compressor at all, it simply needed charged up! The other places were just lying to me. Monro saved me TONS of money. This alone makes me a loyal customer. I try to do my homework when they quote prices to me, and it seems like the prices they quote are fair. Ken also takes the time to explain exactly what the problem is. Some might perceive this as talking down to people, but I find it helpful. He will also let you know about how long you can go without the repair (if not critical or dangerous) and also if it will pass inspection (in case you need to save up the money). Overall very pleased with the services received.…
Sell you the greasy shirt off our back for a profit.. Monro Muffler 60 Allegheny River Blvd. Why are businesses allowed to do this. During a routine maintenance they gave me a printout about a problem with my car missing and it was doing it slightly and eventually a lot more. They quoated me a price of about $320 (Tune up and parts). I called asked if will honor price. No but about $380. I inquire about a tune up also. Okay. Take it there they analyze it now they tell me I need two tires (do but not that bad) $680. Told them only have $500. after some apprehension they agreed to do all for $500. A day and $500 laterGet car drive it, still missing. Bring back now I need 2 ignition coils, $110 a piece. After my complaining did it for $220. A day and now over $700 later still have same problems. In shop two days now they say its my transmission. Complaining about coils and things he unapoligetically says "well you needed them" Did I?…
Best service and people. We have been bringing both our cars to Monro for the past 7 years. They know us, we know them, and we trust them. Recently my car was in for a big repair. The dealer quoted me $1289.40. Monro charged $800. When they tested the car they found out that one of the parts they had put in was defective. They then went out of their way to get me the part - driving an hour each way to get it- then double-teamed the rest of the repair so I could have it back before the holiday weekend. They go above and beyond what is expected and always treat us right. I HIGHLY recommend them.…
Won't honor their own coupons. I had my car in there for a new muffler and a an oil change. Their muffler price estimate was the most expensive out of 3 nearby garages from which I got estimates, but Monro did match the estimates. However, the estimates from other garages included taxes. Upon completion of the service, they insisted that tax was extra. They said the pricematch was only supposed to be against other national brands, and I should feel lucky they accepted my estimate from other local garages. But hello??? I wouldn't have agreed to their service if they didn't match the other quotes. I also got a coupon from Firestone for $17.99 in oil change. I printed Monro's own coupon for 10% off competitor coupon. When I brought that coupon in there, the manager matched the Firestone price, but laughed at me and refused to honor the 10% off competitor coupon. He said he's not going to do price adjustment for $1.80. I didn't want to spend time arguing with him as it is not a large sum, but it goes to show how little they care about their customers.…
