Above and beyond.
Our visit to Alfred Angelo today went above and beyond our expectations. We showed up without an appointment and were catered to by the manager and saleswoman.
I reccomend you bring a picture of the style that you want as we wasted a lot of time trying to describe the dress the bride had in mind. Once we found a picture of what she wanted everything came together effortlessly. The perfect veil, tiara, slip, earings and even jeweled sandals were chosen for us on the first try. They know their wedding style.
There was no pressure and they even had party poppers with streamers for us to celebrate her choosing "The Dress".
I was even more impressed when they pulled the perfect bridesmaid dress on the first try. It is so flattering and the bride loves it.
I will review again after the fittings and alterations, but on first impression all I can say is wow!
Wonderful Shop, Beautiful Gowns, Excellent Service.
I went with my MOH on my first trip to find a wedding gown. She made an appointment at Alfred Angelo in Monroeville. We met with our consultant and she was friendly and very knowledgeable. I came in with no pictures and really no idea of what I was looking for. She had us look around a little, describe that I was looking for (basically...shrink my waist and you'll be my friend for life) and within 15 minutes she pulled three beautiful dresses in my price point. None were awful, but the third one I tried on was it. It was perfect.
She was so excited for me and even helped me dress the gown with a sash that matched my bridal party colors which was the perfect accent to the dress. I returned two weeks later to put my deposit down on the gown and order it. She called me a few days ago and I picked up (and tried on) my beautiful dress yesterday. It's beautiful, brand new and so reasonable. I even got $100 off.
My bridesmaids are also going through Alfred Angelo. They found several beautiful dresses there that were very reasonable and chose one that looked good on both of them.
Everyone we have met with has been helpful and very conscious of price and style when we asked for their opinion. They seemed genuinely concerned about how the dress fit and worked and I will return to them for accessories and any other possible needs I'll have for my wedding.
I will recommend Alfred Angelo to ALL of my friends if they get married. I loved my experience there and I wish all of my wedding endeavors could be as easy and pleasant as picking out my gown.
Another bad experience.
I went to Alfred Angelo with a fellow bridesmaid to get bolero jackets for a wedding we were going to be in. When we first walked in, an older woman (who I assumed was the manager) waited on us. She was very knowledgable, and picked out our accurate sizes right away, but she seemed a bit snobby and stand-offish.
When it came time to place the order, the girl at the register told us that there would need to be a rush charge to have them by the wedding -- even though it was almost 3 months away. The rush charge was $30 -- EACH! The two of us kind of made a fuss, so she put both jackets on one order and only charged us one rush fee. When she printed the receipt for me to sign, I noticed that the jackets rung up at $70 instead of $65 that was online and on the tag. She said that she'd give them to us for $65 but she'd have to re-ring it. When she re-rung it, then she said that the $70 was correct for one of the jackets b/c it was a woman's size and not a 'straight.' THEN it was discovered that they both should have been straights. WE WERE THERE FOR OVER AN HOUR. The register would not let this girl fix the problem with the price or size. She called 2 or 3 different stores to try and fix the problem but it wouldn't work, so she told me that someone would call me the next day (a Monday) to take my credit card # over the phone and credit me the $10.70 for the size/price mistake.
Well, no one ever called me the next day. I called on Tuesday and explained my story. The woman told me, "oh, it's all taken care of. The jackets are ordered." When I asked her about the credit, she didn't know what I was talking about.
Then she took my credit card # and said that the $ 10.70 should be credited on my next statement.
WELL. My statement came and there was no credit -- just the incorrect charge.
I called the store ASAP and told them about it and the SAME WOMAN told me that their policy no longer allows transactions over the phone, so I would have to take the credit when I came to pick the jackets up.
I asked her if she knew when this would be since I was going on vacation. She said that she'd call the factory and find out and call me back.
A week passed and I got no call. I finally called the Monday before I left for vacation and she said, "oh, they're here and ready to be picked up." She told me that someone called my house the previous Friday but got no answer and did not leave a message. That's fine, but they never called me at work OR my cell phone -- and they had both numbers.
So now I have to figure out WHEN I'm going to get these jackets before I leave for vacation. I'm terrified that if I wait to pick them up until after I get home that they'll be sent back or something -- ESPECIALLY after reading all the other terrible reviews on this and other websites.
I will not go to Alfred Angelo in Monroeville when I get married.
It's a shame that something so simple has turned into such a huge ordeal.
More or less treated me like a liar!!! They show no concern when there's a problem, they don't care!!!. I started bridal shopping apx. one year ago. I ended up going to Alfred Angelo in Monroeville PA. My first experience there was great, everyone was so nice. When my purchases (Dress, veil, headpiece, etc.) came in they called to let me know. It's was some time before I was able to go pick up my things. The day I decided to pick up my things I called them to let them know I was on my way and would they please have everything ready for me. I was so excited, I picked up my items (they were already in a dress bag. I then proceded to my mothers to show her what it looked like and found that my $100.00+ headpiece was not there. So I called the store right away. They said they would check and call me back, they never did. I called for month trying to get a new one. It is now almost a year and I'm still waiting to her from you Alfred Angelo!!! Maybe this will get their attention!!!
