Best dining experience. I found this place about a year ago. Hidden away in the small borough of Castle Shannon I discovered what looked like on the outside "a cute little place." On the inside, I was greeted by colorful examples of Caribbean art, the sound of steel pan music in the background, and smells that awakened my senses. I opened up the woven palm fan and found their menu and then I was handed a special list that made my decision that much harder. The food has surpassed anything I have had in Pittsburgh. I have tried the coffee and peppered filet mignon, the red curry shrimp to name a few and my children love the Miss Ruth's Ribs. Make sure that you leave room for dessert which is all made at the restaurant. We usually order the key lime cheesecake, the paradise fondue, and the stir fried tropical fruit crepes and share all of them. I am going to throw my next party in one of their private dining rooms in The Hideaway. Besides having great food, the place is small and very intimate. The owner always comes to our table and always makes us feel right at home. If you are looking for a unique dining experience, look no further. Once you've tried it, you'll keep returning again and again as my family and I have.
