Laser Treatments Don't Work. I have been conned into doing laser hair removal treatments on my legs for the past 6 years with American Laser. When I first signed up, I was told that the treatment for permanent hair removal would work 100% on me. When I asked what if it didn't, I was told that it had never not worked on anyone ever. As my treatments went on and on, the story changed. It became that this is hair reduction and not removal. So if you have one single less hair, the treatment was considered successful. I have DARK COARSE hair and near white skin. I do not have medical or hormone issues. I probably have 1 less hair, but it isn't noticable and I still shave every day. I wanted it to work so bad that I threw away $1000's. I kept being told - you just need more time - sign up for another package. Don't let this happen to you! Don't be conned in! And also, when I was having my treatments, they tried to convince me to do photofacials too because apparently having freckles is totally hideous.

Horrible Accounting and POOR Manager. The women who provide the treatments are really nice, I feel bad for them.

I signed up in Robinson, paid for my treatments in full over 8 or 9 months... a few month later they closed that location.. and my headaches have begun.

On top of a HORRIBLE location for me to get to, they have gone back and forth saying I owe them more money, after treating me several times without anything due. Then the "office manager" says I do owe, I explain paid in full... must be an error. I get my treatment. Then I go back 10 weeks later, and am told accounting error fixed, nothing owed. THEN I go in today - and the "office manger" says I owe... and keeps up with being as rude as she has ever been to me.

Let me also explain that in the interim, I was called the day of a treatment and told there was a problem with their treatment room, I had to reschedule. SO I did, I get ALL The way down there against traffic for this appointment, and they say they have no record of it, maybe I got it wrong. "OK, so what is the right time and day?" They don't show me rescheduled. The manager continues to be rude, can't fit me in. She admitted they called me to cancel the appointment and "may have" reschduled then.

There is a HUGE lack of respect for clients and attention to detail in the accounting realm..I see why they are closing more and more locations.

If you are looking for cosmetic treatments, I would suggest going somewhere that tries to make it an enjoyable experiencce.. and NOT here.

Good Experience. I am sorry about the other experiences that the other girls discussed. In my experiences, everything was explained very clearly and I asked a lot of questions. No out of the ordinary pressure that one would generally receive in someone "promoting" their brand and services. Dawn provided with a lot of information and prior to attending my consultation, I researched prices for laser treatment and they offered me an incredible deal, plus, the two year guarantee. I've only received two treatments and I already can see a different. Also, they gave free micro-derms in my package as well and the staff thus far is wonderful. With laser and skin treatment becoming so trendy, I would recommend a reputable agency like American Laser. If you do your research, you find that they truly do provide some of the best guarantees. I guess we all have bad experiences at certain places, but my experience has been incredible. Very professional and discrete.

Bad experience at this location, but not at other location. The offices in Pittsburgh are very bad. But other locations are awsome.

Avoid ALC - they are fraudulent and manipulative. I went to the Pittsburgh branch in November 2006, for a "free" consultation. Dawn Stellabotte, the clinic manager, manipulated and tricked me into signing paperwork. She said I was signing privacy and medical paperwork regarding the free consultation. She also offered me a free credit check to see if I could afford any of the procedures. I was curious to see if my credit would allow it so I said OK. Instead, she opened up an $8300 line of credit in my name. I never received any treatments, and ALC refuses to refund the money because of their "No Refund" policy. I am already up to $110,000 in debt from student loans (I'm a recent graduate), and I can't afford this $8300 charge. Especially since I never knew I was signing up for it. They have also already sent the debt to a collection agency. So now I am fighting two battles. This whole experience has been so humiliating and I lie awake at night wondering how I will ever escape this fraudulent debt. I can't afford legal fees, so I am going to try other options. I will be contacting a number of consumer advocacy agencies as well as the media so I can get some attention to this. But I need help for other people. I know there are more people like us out there, but they are embarrassed and ashamed to come forward. If I put my self out there, I know they will also come forward. This company operates on manipulation of women with low self-esteem and they continually subscribe to fraudulent and deceptive practices, and should be forced to stop.
