Fabulous place for New Year's Eve Dinner. My husband and I are looking forward to our third consecutive New Year's Eve Dinner at Eleven. It is the perfect spot for a quiet, romantic evening. The setting and decor are intimate and comfortable, yet sophisticated. The Elysian Fields Lamb is a signature ingredient which we absolutely love. They also have many delicious seafood and vegetarian options. The wine selection is stellar. We find the staff to be professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable regarding food and wine. Make sure you save room for dessert, because the pastry chef is AMAZING! They feature tasting menus for different occasions throughout the year. You can sign up for the e-mails to keep you updated on upcoming dinners. Also, they will send you a birthday card with coupons.

3D - Great Decor, Drinks and Desserts. Loved my experience here. The desserts are unique and taste wonderful...I HIGHLY suggest the banana cream pie - perfect balance of sweet and light without the guilty feeling! The drinks are plentiful and good and the decor is impressive. If you have 2-4 people I recommend sitting near the bar especially on nice warm nights.

Wonderful restaurant and a nice bar too. Eleven is one of the top spots for a special night out. I had the best risotto there, and I've enjoyed every meal immensely. The decor is contemporary and warm.

Inconsistent for the price. Three words to remember at all costs...Avoid Chef's Table. Wow, a Chef's table with no Chef. Imagine a cramped, hot, loud and uncomfortble table with absolutely no view of the kitchen. We were there for 4 hours and not one apearance by the Chef. Only about 10% of the people at our table of six could see the hot pass (server side), the rest were viewing the very nice seats in the rest of the establishment.

They make their own bread on site, but some seemed day old. Food had moments of highs and lows. The Lamb Taco was fantastic. Great flavors and presentation. The three green salad was nicely done and the seafood bisque was a nice treat as well. I ordered the Tuna which mentioned cannellini beans. It should have read cannellini beans with Tuna. The tuna was of good quality and well prepared, but all you could taste was the beans. Dont get it. My wife tried the seafood tasting and the shrimp were overdone. The crabcakes were quite good.

I enjoyed two of the three homemade ice cream flavors I had for desert. The egg nog is worth a try. The other deserts enjoyed by our fellow diners looked uninspired to me. Maybe its just me, but when you spend 200 bucks for two, you expect a consistent quality product. Which I did not get here.

My suggestion, eat in the bar, enjoy the atmosphere, the tatsy pub menu and the great drinks...and stay away from that Chef's table.

Tired. At one time this seemed to have staying power in the Pittsburgh dining scene. Over the past few months I have visited Eleven while in town on business several times. Each time I have encountered rude servers and been dissatisfied with some or all of my meal. Bread seems stale, meat is at times over cooked. Food is uneven. Maybe it is time to refresh the kitchen staff and retrain servers.....Try Bistro 19 on Rt. 19 or Capitol Grill instead.

Solid choice.. Good food, drinks and service. For small groups (2 to 4 people), the atmosphere/seating near the bar is better than the larger dining areas.

Fantastic Food with a Focus on Fresh Local Products. My husband and I are huge fans of the Big Burrito group. We have eaten at Eleven at least 6 times and have never left unhappy. Typically, we order the Chef and vegetarian tasting menus with wine pairings. On occassion we order al la carte, but find the tasting menus to be the best way to sample what they have to offer. One of our favoritequalities of Eleven is the focus on utilizing fresh locally produced items. Their use of heirloom tomatoes is always a hilight of the meal. This slow foods attitude has a positive impact on the food consumed. The flavors are heightened and the sensory experience is well balanced. I have found that the service is at least adequate and always polite. There are some phenomenal members of the waitstaff and none that are poor at the job - just some that shine brighter than others. My one warning about Eleven is to be specific when making reservations regarding your table. Seating upstairs is more intimate; seating downstairs, especially close to the bar area is louder, but in my opinion more visually appealing. If you are seated at the Chef's tables (right next to the kitchen) be prepared to hear all the conversatons occuring in the kitchen. We actually enjoy the experience, but it would not be for everyone. An added bonus is the occasional "gift" from the chef of an item to try on the house (this doesn't always happen - but has).

Eleven is an excellent choice for fine dining. The quality of the food makes for a fantastic dinner!

Memorable Anniversary dinner. I took my wife there Saturday night for our anniversary. We decided to go for 1 of each of the Chef's Tasting menus so we could try both the meat and the vegetarian choices. We also opted to go with the wine pairings. It was awesome. Very well done: Great presentation, wonderfully flavored dishes, well paced (not rushed), nice wines paired with the food, nice atmosphere, very attentive wait staff. We'll definitely be back.

Ask for 1 of their upstairs tables for a more private, quiet, romantic setting. Sit downstairs to see & be seen.

We're both big fans of the Big Burrito group restaurants and we see this as their Flagship restaurant.

For us, great food, lousy service. I wish I could recommend Eleven more highly. I am a big fan of the Big Burrito restaurants, including Soba and particularly Casbah. I went to Eleven for my wife's birthday for the first time. The decor is nice, the food is outstanding, but our service was lousy. My wife suggests that we may have simply had a bad waiter. Perhaps, but every part of the service was particularly slow -- from taking our orders to having to ask twice for bread and butter. Our entrees took absolutely forever -- to the point where my wife left for the ladies' room and unbeknownst to me, decided to complain to the hostess. Yes, the service improved then, but this should hardly be necessary.

Our verdict? The food was outstanding, but the poor service really detracted from an otherwise excellent restaurant.

Awesome Burger!. My wife had been trying to get me to go to Eleven for some time and I finally went and loved it!

Had a bleu burger off the Tavern Menu and it was fantastic! Shrimp shooters were awesome too. Only complaint is limited draft beer selection. Otherwise it is one of the best restaurants in the Strip District or Pittsburgh for that matter.
