Tips for South Hills Movers

they talk a big game. ZERO STARS. Steve came to my house for an estimate and was very nice. We were told our dates to move would be "absolutely no problem." 2 weeks later, we get a voicemail saying that they are unable to move us because they are busy. not helpful in recommending someone else and didnt seem to think the fact that we were told the dates were good to go mattered much. so we are left high and dry with only 3 weeks to move cross-country with a 5 month old baby. they came recommended from people who used them for local moves, but beware if you need cross-country assistance, regardless of what the sales-person tells you!

Family Owned Movers - always striving to be the best. I have moved with SHM several times, as have family members and friends. Without fail, South Hills Movers has delivered outstanding customer service, moves without problems, claim-free and on the dates I have requested. This is true of the moves performed for family and friends as well. Also they are nationwide moving company, so they will move you wherever you may be going.

Would always recommend without exception!!! They are never rude - I suspect the other customer was troubled.

Rude movers, no customer service, will not use again. My recent move from Bridgeville to Canonsburg was a nighmare thanks to the horrific service from South Hills Movers. They were supposed to send 4 movers and only 3 showed up - two of which had aclohol on their breath from the night before! Not only were they slow as molasses, they couldn't care less about our belongings. Two dresser drawers are broke, there is a hole in the plaster in our stairway and muddy shoe prints on our new carpeting! The boxes I so carefully packed were left in huge stacks in our garage and, of course, the boxes marked "fragile" are on the bottom. And, get this, they charged us overtime because it was a weekend move - which was never discussed when we scheduled our move - adding an additional $250.00 to the bill!!!! After several unaswered emails, I have to assume they just don't care about their customers. Stay away from South Hills movers. You will be glad you did.

Stuff arrived, but after a fashion. Hired this company in August 07 for an easy in-state move: one set of living room kitchen, dining room, average kitchen and four bedroom contents plus computer/office stuff and two TVs. Took three days to pack and one to load, with two older guys doing the work. Even though the contract was to unpack items to closest available surface, these guys just dumped our boxes anywhere in the house, many boxes unlabeled and were rude and testy when questioned about the unpacking -- they just wanted to get out of there (admittedly it was a hot day but there just weren't enough men on the job). The only unpacking was dumping a lot of the wrong stuff on my kids' beds which I had to sort out before putting them to bed that night. Major stress -- shop around before moving and make sure there are at least four guys for a family move. We have hired two professional movers before and the other companies were great (Atlas was one), South Hills could not compare.
