party catering order. i recently had a get together of about 30 friends and had Tamarind catering the food for me. it was an order for veg + nonveg dishes including chilli chicken, chicken makhani, chicken tikka. although the food was tasty they were very stingy in the actual meat they had in each dish. so, it was like 3/4 th tray curry and 1/4th actual chicken. i felt very embarrassed when my friends pointed it out to me, on the day of party.

Best local Indian, but just slightly above average.. Why is it so hard to find good Indian food here? The food quality/taste at Tamarind is slightly above average. Always very clean. Probably a little expensive, but still the best local choice.

Great place for Indian food. Great place for a great dinner. With two floors of dinning area in a classic house, the best looking Indian restaurant so far i n town. Authentic Indian food, try the Poondu Koluzambu (hope I spelled it right) it is awesome, no other indian restaurant I tasted had this item nor anything close to this flavor. True to its name it does capture the flavor of India.

Horrible Service. Although the food is good and the lunch buffet is a good deal, the service is horrible. Not only rude, but also uncomfortable and stress-inducing. I would definitely not go back here again just because the service was so horrendous.

great indian food in pittsburgh. went to indica with my wife last week. everything about the restaurant was just perfect, from the warm welcome as you enter the restaurant, the wonderful ambience, eclectic music all the way to immaculately prepared dishes. it made a memorable evening for us. the menu was limited and different from what we are used to (moved here from nyc), we tried three dishes and each was very unique. the waitress was very knowledgeable and pleasant, she explained that the recipes were from the owners family and that the menu changed seasonally. she also paired a riesling from the winelist with our dishes. we came away very impressed about having an indian restaurant of this caliber in pittsburgh. will be regulars at indica.
