Editorial Review for Movies on Flagstaff Hill – by David C. Madden
The Overview
Flagstaff Hill is a large, open area of Schenley Park located right across from Phipps Conservatory. When the sun is up, you'll find a scattering of half-naked college kids sunning themselves on the hill's face. When the sun goes down, folks of all sorts come out to enjoy the music and movies.
The Experience
Bands perform at 8pm, nightly, often featuring an assortment of acts in a "Battle of the Bands"-style performance. Around 9:15pm, the big screen lights up, and the movie begins. Movies screened aren't exactly first-run, but perhaps you missed them when they were--either way, it's great to see them underneath the stars.
