I have been going to Lunasea Salon for 7 years. I will only go to Becki for waxing and makeup for special events. Now that the salon offers shellac manicures my nails always look great. (The polish lasts almost 2 weeks!)

Leann is amazing with color and highlights. I moved to Pittsburgh from a bigger city and I love that I don't have to pay high prices to get what I want done to my hair.

Lunasea salon & dayspa is a hidden gem in the SouthSide.

I have been going to Becki for spa treatments for 8 years and won't go to anyone else. She's great at what she does and she's so nice and friendly... it makes the experience that much better. Beautiful setting too!

Quite enough. I have been getting my hair cut with Leanne for about 18 months now and it has been dodgy in the last 8 months. It seemed that every other hair cut and color, she just decided to trim my hair and would not do a thorough job The cut never kept its shape after the first few days. Well now she has really surpassed herself. On my last visit, she did a great job with the color but only cut the back of my hair... really? After not having a full hair cut for 9 weeks she only does the back? I had no idea how bad it was until I got home and looked at the back which was fine but which didn't match the top or front at all. The top is an absolute mop of shapeless nothing. It was like she just got tired of me sitting in her chair and decided to quit. She had someone else processing with color so maybe the other woman got a full hair cut. I did not and now have to pay someone to fix this mess. Perhaps the trick is to only let her cut your hair every other time because clearly she has no desire to be consistent. I am disgusted beyond words and really regret paying her the full amount I always have.

Excellent staff and service. Any time I call I can get same day services...anything from a brow wax, to a mani pedi, to a facial or even a color...I have always had great service and have left completely satisfied.

Long-time Lunasea Client. I've been going to Lunasea for over two years and I continue to enjoy each haircut and wax treatment. The ambiance is relaxed and hip with bright design touches throughout. Marla is great - funny, trendy, and creative - and, of course, a very talented hair stylist. She listens to my ideas and then provides her suggestions. Becky handles the waxing, among other spa-related services, and keeps me relaxed. She does a great job with makeup application as well. In fact, Marla and Becky did my hair and makeup for my wedding and everything was perfect...the wedding photos are fab. When I moved from Shadyside to Mt. Lebanon, I could have easily chosen a new salon in Mt. Lebanon. But, I really enjoy the ambiance, friendliness, and talent from these gals at Lunasea. It's a true gem in the heart of South Side.

really great. I went to Marla and got an amazing haircut - she was OK with cutting hair a little asymetrical, which is a rarity.

awesome pedicures. A friend recommended lunasea. This was my first time there and the Pedicure I received was awesome. My favorite part was when I got the foot scrub, she used hot towels to remove the product, and followed it with a great foot massage. This is a great spa, and I can't wait to get other services there.

Beyond my expectations.... I had walked by this salon a few times and wanted to check it out. I must say it went far beyond my expectations! The salon is decorated beautifully, with bright, vividly colored walls and tasteful furniture. Soothing music played in the background and they even brought me coffee and a cookie while I waited for my highlights to process. My hair looked amazing and I left the salon confidant, relaxed and re-energized. I will defintely be back!

worst haircut ever. i went in here becuase I thought it would be an alternative to the regular pittsburgh salon. Unfortunately, I was wrong. I got the WORST haircut of my life. I am embarrassed to leave the house. The website said that lunasea "works with clients" to create hairstyles. After explaining what I wanted, the stylist vaguely did what I asked for, but my bangs far too short, and didn't really give the back of my head any shape.. and that was it. She was done in under 15 minutes!!! I didn't feel like she gave me a custom cut at all... I felt like she grafted some stock style onto my head. I was sorry to part with the 40 dollars... I felt like I could have gotten a similar (poor) cut at a chain.

I left with my hip hairstyle on the floor. I'm a guy who is looking for a hairstylist in Pittsburgh who can give me a hip cut. A month before coming to Lunasea I had had my best haircut ever in New York City (at a place called Salon Seven). All I wanted was to keep the same style, but trim off a month's growth. Well, I left Lunasea with my hip New York style all over the floor, and I won't be coming back. The haircut was ok, but I didn't get the style I wanted (which shouldn't have been too hard, since I wanted to keep the same style). Sigh... I'll have to keep searching for a place for a guy to get a hip haircut in Pittsburgh.
