You Get What You Pay For. I went to this place because it was in my neighborhood and had good prices, and I was tired of paying over $50 for cuts in Shadyside. I have fine hair that I had not cut in a long time, and I told the stylist, Kristy, to give me any kind of cut she liked that made me look good and gave my hair a little volume. I told her this several times. She proceeded to give my hair exactly two layers, each one the same length all the way across. No creativity or sense of style whatsoever. Worst haircut I've had in a while. I would have gladly paid the extra money for a real hairstyle.

Horrible place. I wanted to dye my daughter's hair from black back to brown.

3 h and $75 later she still had black hair. They told me it was very hard to do, but they should've told me that before and I would've taken her to the professionals.

It was really not worth it.

Great Hair Salon Great Staff. I recently went to Salon Louie for the second time, and when I called I was informed that the stylist that I had seen before had left. Kim who was to be doing my hair was great, they had informed me. I was a little nervous because I was getting color, highlights and haircut and I didn't want it to be messed up, but I went anyways. When I sat down, Kim did a wonderful job with the consultation, which I had thought slacked a little bit last time, and I was imediately comfortable. She suggested we change my hair color a little bit because she thought it was a little brassy, which i agreed with completely. She made my haircut look exactly like the picture I had brought in which usually never happens and gave me great advice on how to easily style it at home ( and I can style it almost as good myself like how she did) I get so many complements on my hair that I am going to go see Kim more and keep my color maintained which I usually slacked on. I am happy that the other girl left, though she was good too, becuase I just liked my hair before and now I LOVE it!!! Anyone going to Salon Louie go see Kim she is great and your hair will be too.

Good Find. Great salon in good neighborhood. I just moved to Pittsburgh and was searching for a new salon and was overwhelmed by all the salons and all the reviews. I was looking for a smaller salon that did a great job and I found it on the first try. Owner was very personable and all employees very sweet and hospitable. I love my new highlights and silky hair thanks to Kristi.

Salon Louie Review. This was my first time to Salon Louie. I was recommended by an acquaintance of my husband. I was greeted quickly by one of the stylists to let my know that Sarah would be with me in a moment. You know when you walk into a salon and all of the stylists have great/amazing hair, you know you are in good hands. Sarah was great and a lot fun! She reminds me of my sister. She did a great job on highlighting and cuttng my hair. I wanted to update my haircut, but I wasn't sure what I wanted, a long bob or layers. Started with the long bob, but she had a great cut so I decided I wanted a longer version of hers and WOW! She did a great job! She gave me a great and modern cut. Once I was done, I felt like a new woman! My husband, who only dishes out compliments once in a while told me he loved my hair. :) I also took pictures and sent them to my mom and she loved my hair as well. I've been searching for a stylist for a long time and I finally found one!! I highly recommend Sarah or any of the other stylists @ Salon Louie! They are also very reasonably priced and I got great service!

Great style!. I went to Salon Louie to get my hair done for prom. My Mom had been going there to get her hair cut and dyed, and had reccomended her stylist, Christie, to me. I walked into the salon and was greeted by Louie, the salon's friendly owner. I was promptly seated and the styling began (after I was offered a cold drink and a magazine). ...I was relieved that, after I had been (unsuccesfully)searching for a prom hairstyle for my short-ish inverted bob haircut, Christie had a great idea for my hair. She straightened my hair for me and pulled up the tops and sides into a classy "poof" and pinned it securely back. She straightened out my bangs and trimmed them a bit for me, and then sprayed my 'do. She was very friendly and it was a great experience. Also-the price was VERY reasonable! And, after dancing all night, my hair still looked perfect (and so did the prom pictures!)
