talk abount confused!.
I used this place for my wedding because I was told by Bob Ludwig that he could create arrangements for a very reasonable price. I gave photos and made MANY calls back and forth and when my day came the arrangments were not as we discussed and I had given them photos as well.
On top of that, my cascading bouquet had 2 or 3 flowers fall out about 5 minutes after we got it. When i explained this to Jim, he said it couldn't have happened and it was my fault for handling it wrong! Which I didn't! We were super careful with all of our flowers.
Thank God I kept all my written communication! Even so, I always had to initiate contact with the company and had to remind them each time why I was calling, what we discussed, etc to the point where I felt like I was talking to my grandfather who has dimentia.
If you do choose them make sure you have tons of photos and keep a clear record of all conversations and documents!
AMAZING ! ! !. I have used alot of florist before but have never had any that was truly as caring and compassionate to LISTEN (even the day before Valentines Day-when no other florist had time to and could not possibly do what i was asking)! and not only did they listen; but instead of saying no way like the other florist; Offered gladly to do what i needed and was exceptionally helpful- both Jim & his wife Linda.... I called 3xs to add to my order and that in its self would have probably irritated me; but they were more than happy in making sure I got everything the way I wanted... My Husband & I live in NC; I was in Ky. and my father-in-law passed away in Pittsburgh. My husband had to go and i could not get thru the mountians to join him and wanted to send him a "fruit basket"-(added lots of stuff - beside the Fruit there was Nuts; Cheese & Crackers; Summer Sausage; Pretzels; Chocolates; Jelly Beans and even Salsa & Chips )! My Husband said It was the nicest basket he had ever seen and asked how I came up with the money for something so nice. I told him I was making "installment payments "LOL. .not really ! . I was shocked when my husband told me how big and how nice it was....and compared to other florist was priced extremely reasonable....IF YOU NEED A FLORIST: PLEASE TRY & TRUST them. You will be very glad you did...... Thanks so very much Jim & Linda for going the extra mile and doing such a wonderful job ! ! ! ! We will remember this for a very long time and if we ever need a florist for our other family members there we will absolutely call on you..I wouldn't think of calling any of the other florist around pittsburgh, when they could not help me at all and i had even humbled myself; stated my case with desperation and Begged ! ! ! all I got was a no sorry were not doing fruit basket the day before valentines day..... Once Again...thank you for not only being so kind and helpful but for doing such an incredible job ! ! !
Beautiful yet Unique Cut Flower Bouquet.
I wanted to rave about the cut flower bouquet I ordered on-line and picked up the next day.
I presented the bouquet to my sister on her graduation from radiology school that evening.
She just loved it. The lilies, Gerber daisies, carnations and berries made it very unique and different from the bouquets others were receiving from loved ones.
6 days later and it is still looking very fresh and pretty.

Jim Ludwig's Bloomin' Mess.
I do freelance floral design but I don't have a storefront, so I buy flowers wherever I can, Giant Eagle, Sam's Club, etc. A friend said the Strip District had good stuff, so I bought bulk flowers from these people in September 2008. I came back and gave Jim a second chance because I had hoped he was just having a bad day the first time. When one of the items I ordered the first week was dead and damaged, he insisted it must be my fault. I have many years of design experience, and yet he insisted I did not have the skill to properly pull a cello sleeve off of a bunch of Monte Casino! He was insulting and not at all customer-service oriented. I was very polite to him, and still he mishandled and damaged my flowers, didn't even bother wrapping my very delicate Casa Blanca Lilies or my delphinium the previous week, and gave me open, lilies when I asked for closed ones. The roses I got are way past their prime; the bud base is completely soft. They are fully open I need them two days from now - I am sure they'll be dead by then even though they're in a cooler.
It really is more of a hovel than flower shop. Everything's dirty and poorly decorated. It seems so out-of-date. It doesn't give the customer a good impression when the business doesn't look attractive.
In the end, I have to say he provided my with floral fresh cuts, none of which were truly fresh and a bad attitude to go with it. Jim Ludwig is wholly unconcerned with his customer's satisfaction, and he handles flowers without being careful enough to assure that they get to the customer undamaged. His prices are outrageous! In short, if you want low standards in all areas of business and high prices to top it all off, go to the Blumengarten. When it comes to Jim Ludwig's Blumengarten, his bottom line is your wallet, and that's about it.
I feel as if I have been taken advantage of as a customer; I've been had. How has this man stayed in business so long?

As an owner of the Blumengarten, I was surprised by Jennifer's review, since she phoned me a couple of days after receiving her flowers and told me all the flowers were lovely, with the exception of one item, for which we gave her a refund.
Jennifer ordered her bulk flowers only a couple of days before she needed them, and we had to obtain them locally. With two weeks' notice we can ship flowers direct from the grower. These are usually the best quality and less expensive.
Wonderful service and affordable prices. Blumengarten's did our flowers for our July 12, 2008 wedding. We looked at a few florists in the Pittsburgh area and were pleased with the styles that Jim (one of the owners) suggested. The prices at Blumengarten's were also very affordable, especially compared to some of the estimates we received. In addition, Jim worked with us to choose flowers that would meet our style, needs, and budget. We were given a detailed price list prior to making any commitment and there were always people in the shop if we had any questions. We had to do the planning from 3 hrs away and it was very easily done with the help of Jim and his staff. I was so happy that we chose this florist - the flowers were even more beautiful than I imagined. I would highly recommend this florist shop!
This is NOT the florist I would pick for my wedding flowers!. I wouldnt recommend this florist to any one. The owner was very difficult to communicate with. There prices were high and the styles were not current. I would look for another florist before making this one my choice.
Pretty bad. A Waste of time. Not up to date with trends. I didn't do any research or read reviews, which proves that finding a name in the phone book isn't the best way to find a florist. Get referrals and call them before scheduling an app. First impressions are usually correct when it comes to service and style.
