best hockey store ever.
I was glad to move to the Pittsburgh area because I knew it was a big hockey area, but the bonus was finding a Perani's right near the rinks. I'm an avid hockey player so the store is like candyland!!. It's great to be able to walk in and get great service from all the guys.
The lady that runs the place is friendly, professional and very knowledgeable as well. I am also SOLD on the skate sharpening. It's great to have a place you know you will get a good job everytime.
What a great "welcome to Pittsburgh" !!
Thank goodness for Perani's !!.
We are new to the youth hockey game and were totally lost when it came to getting our son ready for his hockey class. The rink gave us a list of items that he would need. (My wife and I played soccer!!) Our neighbor told us to go to Perani's on Cochran rd, he had all 4 of his children in hockey and they shopped exclusively at Perani's. When we walked in the door we were asked by a young man what we needed to find. I showed him the list and told him we were clueless. He spent the next hour and a hlaf showing us all the options and helping us understand what our son would need and why (plus how to put it on!!). There was even one item on the list that was not in stock and he took our name and number and had it sent in from one of the other Perani's stores! The store is huge, all the boys are friendly and knowledgable and we were able to get what our son needed without spending a fortune!!
Don't waste your time going anywhere else!
Don't Expect To Be Helped At All. Unless you're a pro who knows exactly what you want, avoid Perani's. The employees there couldn't be less interested in helping you out. Five employees in a store and not one will ask you if you need anything or help you in any way. Great selection, but the poorest customer service I've ever encountered.
