Terrible Service, Awful Food.
Horrible, terrible customer service at EPHESUS. Every time I order food from them order comes either wrong or incomplete. This time it was the gyro platter which was delivered with very dry bread, dry meat, no cucumber sauce and a missing bottled water. When I called EPHESUS back, the girl on the phone assured me that she would send a delivery guy to complete the order. It never came. When I called back I got a manager on the phone. When I explained the problem the manager's attitude was "whatever". He had nothing to say and really didn't seem to care that his business was slacking. No apology or anything. By far some of the worst customer service I have ever received.
Regarding the food, it was dry and flavorless. I might as well have eaten a cardboard box for dinner. I never received a refund for the water which makes them thieves as well. I will NOT order from EPHESUS again and recommend that you do not as well.
The pizza is good...but, the pasta dinners are excellent!!. This place has the best red sauce I've had in a really long time. The meatballs are firm and seasoned just right. Take it from an italian guy from NY who has ordered a lot of food from pizza style places all over the country, this place far exceeds any expectations. Due to my job, I'm getting home late and in most cases, the only place to get for food is a pizza joint or chinese....Let me tell you, this place has most places around the country beat, hands down.
The best pizza. Period. There isn't a better pizza anywhere. seriously. take it to the bank and cash it. the best pizza above and beyond your typical dough and pepperoni. The extreme and delicious variety of all other foods and the unbelievable delicousness of them all. it is unparalleled. Also, as if this perfect pizza place needed a beautiful bow tie upon it and be wrapped in fabulous wrapping. This restaurant has the fastest non chinese food delivery I've ever seen in 14 states. God Bless Ephesus Pizza.
Deluxe Italian Sub....DO IT. This place is difficult to locate (on the second floor of some old shady building downtown), and the bathrooms are straight out of your worst nightmare. But once inside, if the Turkish television doesn't get you going, then some foosball certainly will. Despite being totally dirty, the food is awesome. My favorite thing is the deluxe italian sub. It comes with extra meat and cheese, but it costs the same as the regular italian sub. They used to have really good prices, but they recently jacked their prices way up (but honestly, who hasn't?).
Great gyros!. Try the gyro wrap. It is a wonderful, flavorful, chargrilled lamb, not the pressed meat you get at most fast-food places. It's not only the right size for lunch but a great choice price-wise as well. The personal pizzas are also very good. We order in a lot at my office for lunch, and this place is the current favorite.
Editorial Review. The Ephesus Mediterranean Restaurant is enticing Pittsburgh area residence with authentic, mouth watering Mediterranean cuisine within a Mediterranean inspired atmosphere.
Best Pizza in the 'Burgh. I must truly say that they have some of the best Pizza, Baklava, etc. that I have ever had in Pittsburgh.
Best pizza & subs in downtown Pittsburgh!.
The quality of food from Ephesus is astounding! It's always a great choice for lunch, too, because of their prices. Don't be fooled by the size of the "personal" pizza--it will fill you up! I highly recommend the meat lovers and the Italian personal pizzas. I'm also a big fan of their grilled chicken 9" subs. There's no reason to get the larger sub because the 9" comes with two whole chicken breasts as it is! If you want a really cheap lunch, get one of their walk-in specials which start at only five bucks for a plain large pizza.
Very high quality food! Their service is below average, but it is acceptable when weighed with their prices and quality!
yum. Best spinach, chicken (huge tasty chunks), bacon, onion, feta and bacon pie I've ever had. Not a pool of grease to be found! Only crust I actually enjoy eating as much as the rest of the pizza. Lots of appetizer treats as well such as cigarette borek and fried zucchini. Yum. Quite decently priced. Friendly folks.
