40.434002 -80.005307Do not go to the funnybone. Last night, I went to the funnybone with a group of friends for my birthday. We were greeted by a rude hostess named laurel who had absolutely no customer service/people skills. I had called earlier in the week and was told I did not need reservations because if I did make reservations and people did not show I would be charged for them. The man I spoke with on the phone reassured me there would be enough seating because it could hold 300 people. But when I got there, laurel(the hostess) practically scolded me for not making reservations and was very rude in front of my guests. She told me I must of made that up because they always recommend reservations. She said she had to try and "squeeze us in" because it was a full night, and not even half the place was full when the show started. The waitress was very good and the comics were entertaining but for the staff, very rude and unprofessional. Go to the improv instead!
No Laughing Matter!.
Last night at the Funny Bone I, along with several other patrons, shared a horrific experience. This grossly incompetent, uneducated waitress screwed up the bills of nearly the entire audience. But that wasnt the worst part of it! Instead of being accountable for her mistake in poor judgment, she became argumentative, combative, and rude. She made a complete fool of herself, and compounded her stupidity by perpetuating an embarrassing scene for the club. She told us, This is the way we do it here, we are not going to be giving out all of these separate checks! You are going to have to figure this out amongst yourselves! It was the staff that assigned everyone to a particular seat in the first place; and my seat happened to be next to a total stranger that had no desire to take care of my tab, or haggle over splitting a bill!
All of the guest suffered the inconvenience of being detained because the Funny Bone employs a waitress that cant add and subtract: even with aid of a cash register. What I find the most unforgivable, was when we were all held hostage by the Funny Bone management, and forbidden to leave until receiving a hand stamp from the blundering server. The waitress threatened to call the police if we left. She even screamed at those who had already paid their portion of the bill, and were waiting for a stamp so they could leave. On top of that, she had the audacity to demand gratuity! The Funny Bones management needs to invest in some remedial math courses for their staff. The next time this happens (and it will), that waitress wont have to object so strongly to separating checks because with a collective effort she may be able to pull it off! Either way, I will NEVER return to that establishment again!!!!!
