Great Hotel BUT.... It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at referer.us/8/GoodHotelDeals They usually have some pretty good deals on there!

Editorial Review by Christy Buena. The hotel offers budget conscious travelers high speed wireless internet, free digital satellite, laundry and a fully equipped kitchen.

Can't be beat. Spacious, modern and comfortable would be good enough but throw in a location that's convenient to Shadyside shops and dining and you can't do better. Our one-bedroom suite had a nice-sized living area, an adequate queen bedroom and a serviceable kitchen. Bathroom was a little tight. Everything was modern and clean and owner/manager Robert Cox was attentive and accessible, even from long distance. When we locked ourselves out and he was stuck in a storm 25 miles away he located a handyman who got us back in within 15 minutes. Wireless Internet and satellite TV is included in the very affordable price. Good restaurants are within a walk or short drive (try Cafe Zinho) and so are supermarkets, pharmacies ... even a liquor store! On-street parking is free and was never more than a half block away and public transportation is at the corner. One note to light sleepers; you might want to request a second-floor room away from Frienship Avenue, which has some morning street noise. But this is more annoyance than problem. We will definitely return when we're back in Pittsburgh.

A unique place to stay in Shadyside, Pittsburgh, PA. We stayed at the Friendship Suites during the 2007 US Open Golf Tournament. It was great to come back from a busy day at Oakmont to the quiet neighborhood of the Friendship suites to relax, recharge and head back out to the course the next day. We stayed in the 1 bedroom unit in building two. It was modern, very clean and well equiped with a small kitchen, satelilte TV, wireless internet and air conditioning. It was also very quiet and parking in front was easy. We enjoyed the easy 2-3 block walks to Whole Foods, Giant Eagle, Starbucks and the State Beer/Wine shop.

The Proprietor, Robert, was very helpful from setting up the reservation, arranging a late arrival, answering questions and helping with a problem we created early one Sunday morning.

When the Open next returns to Oakmont, we'll call on the Friendship Suites again!

The BEST value in town that includes all that you need and nearby hospitals, downtown, etc.. I have recently gotten the opportunity to experience the Friendship Suites in the Shadyside area of Pittsburgh. I just wanted to express my appreciation and gratitude for the exceptional accommodations and treatment throughout my stay at the Friendship Suites. Even before showing up, the owner of the suites was very helpful in reserving a room for me and answered all of my questions in quick and orderly fashion. Further, I felt that I got a great deal on the price of the room! Nowhere will anyone find everything that I got for the price I received! Friendship Suites and their hospitality have gone above and beyond what I expected and I know in the near future, I will definitely stay at the Friendship Suites again. Thanks for everything!
