Pleasant but average experience. I had high hopes for this restaurant after living in the area for several months and driving by this place almost every day. For dinner, the place is almost always packed, which added to my anticipation. However, after eating dinner there, I was disappointed. The menu is large and ranges from deep dish pizzas to pasta dishes to (gasp!) burgers. I decided to stay away from the non-Italian fare and ordered a "recommended" item: the grilled salmon with pasta Romano. My boyfriend ordered the Hot Sausage Casserole. As an appetizer we got the Yuengling Cheese Dip. The appetizer was actually quite delicious, mostly due to the fantastic flat bread that accompanied it. When my meal arrived the presentation was very plain, with a thin salmon fillet on top of a bed of oily and thin spaghetti. The salmon was tasty, but there was nothing special about it. My boyfriend's dish consisted of two large sausages piled on top of a bed of spaghetti with a watery tomato-based sauce on top. It was good, but again, something that could probably be made quite easily at home. Our waiter was nice enough and I had no complaints about the service. Also, the prices were pretty reasonable (about 50 bucks for 2 entrees, an appetizer and two sodas), but for such a popular dinner destination I was really expecting something more authentic, unique and delicious. Monte Cello's was none of these. I will look elsewhere for authentic Italian cuisine.
Editorial Review by Christy Buena. Italian restaurant features fresh pizza dough, sauces made from scratch and a selection of Italian favorites including pastas and seafood.
The Best Around!. Monte Cello's is a definite favorite in the North Hills. It is a great place to meet up with friends, celebrate after a team win and enjoy a nice sit down dinner. Their pizzas are the best I have ever had. I highly recommend the Calzones, Chicago Deep Dish Pizza and the Steak, Onion n' Ranch Pizza but they also have an excellent dinner menu. All of their food is sure to please. The service is always the best and the atmosphere is friendly and clean. I was shocked to read the other comments about high prices because this is not true. The prices are great along with the quality of the food.
Incredible. I am not sure what Monte Cellos some of the other people went to, but I thought it was outstanding. I expected great pizza but I was certainly surprised by the dinner selection. The prices were reasonable and the food dinner was delicious!!!
some of the best pizza anywhere!. i absolutely love monte cello's!!! growing up i went there every friday after the big game, and everytime i come home to pittsburgh (i live in CA), i go to monte cello's. the pizza, calazones, wedding soup, mozz sticks and fried zuccini are amazing. others complained about prices being expensive, but i have no idea what they are talking about--it's quite inexpensive.
Slice of Mama Mia!. Local favorite in Hampton! Delivers great authentic pizza at an affordable price.
I had to empty my purse!!.
Friday evening my husband and I wanted some good pizza to take back to our hotel. We spotted this place, it was busy so we figured we would try it.
After ordering a small pizza, a side salad, and a calzone....our total was $24.00. For that price we could of went to a nice sit down restaurant. How was the pizza you ask? not that great..I thought cheese was part of a pizza!!
bring the deed to your house. this is a good pizza, nice toppings but please 25.00 for a 16 cut 2 topping pizza delivered to work less than a half mile is way to pricy to eat at but once a month tops. 16 small cuts.
