I had high hopes for this restaurant after living in the area for several months and driving by this place almost every day. For dinner, the place is almost always packed, which added to my anticipation. However, after eating dinner there, I was disappointed. The menu is large and ranges from deep dish pizzas to pasta dishes to (gasp!) burgers. I decided to stay away from the non-Italian fare and ordered a "recommended" item: the grilled salmon with pasta Romano. My boyfriend ordered the Hot Sausage Casserole. As an appetizer we got the Yuengling Cheese Dip. The appetizer was actually quite delicious, mostly due to the fantastic flat bread that accompanied it. When my meal arrived the presentation was very plain, with a thin salmon fillet on top of a bed of oily and thin spaghetti. The salmon was tasty, but there was nothing special about it. My boyfriend's dish consisted of two large sausages piled on top of a bed of spaghetti with a watery tomato-based sauce on top. It was good, but again, something that could probably be made quite easily at home. Our waiter was nice enough and I had no complaints about the service. Also, the prices were pretty reasonable (about 50 bucks for 2 entrees, an appetizer and two sodas), but for such a popular dinner destination I was really expecting something more authentic, unique and delicious. Monte Cello's was none of these. I will look elsewhere for authentic Italian cuisine.

Pros: Plenty of parking, reasonable prices, quick service, nice interior, great place to just hang out

Cons: Very average food, not authentic Italian, presentation needs work

Monte Cello's is a definite favorite in the North Hills. It is a great place to meet up with friends, celebrate after a team win and enjoy a nice sit down dinner. Their pizzas are the best I have ever had. I highly recommend the Calzones, Chicago Deep Dish Pizza and the Steak, Onion n' Ranch Pizza but they also have an excellent dinner menu. All of their food is sure to please. The service is always the best and the atmosphere is friendly and clean. I was shocked to read the other comments about high prices because this is not true. The prices are great along with the quality of the food.

Pros: Great food, Friendly Staff, Excellent Value
