These guys are amazing! Hot Rod is the only insured piercing studio in western PA so I am completely at ease recommending people to go there for their piercing and jewelry needs! This shop has it's crew constantly updating their methods, certifications and standards to stay on top of their game! They have been voted the best in Pittsburgh year after year and it is easy to see why!

Those guys don't know what they're doing. I went to get my cartilage pierced and a few weeks later my ear was so swollen that you could not see the piercing, even though I followed the after care religiously. When I went back to have it looked at, the initial piercer wasn't there and a different one told me that the backing of the stud was put on much too tight, a clear mistake on the first piercer's part. The second guy suggested that I get a ring instead, and changing it out was both painful and expensive. Then I began developing strange scar tissue around the ring. When I went back to hot rod I talked with my initial piercer, who told me that the ring they put in was much too big for a cartilage piercing that was still healing. And he was positive that I must have gotten it done somewhere else, that they would never make that kind of mistake. I'm sorry if this whole story gets confusing, and I do have friends who have had good experiences there. But I have another cartilage piercing which didn't develop any of these problems. I just had to spend a lot of money and time fixing several mistakes that shouldn't have happened. I would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND!

Definately got to Hot Rod Piercing Co.. I would suggest that you go to Hot Rod Tattoo and Piercing. Reason being, I went there yesturdarday and the guys there were so cool. They were willing to answer my questions and tell me everything they knew. Most importantly, they made me feel comfortable being there, they didnt try to scare me off and go to another place, not at all. I was going to get my tongue done and the guy showed me the autoclave. My girl friend told me to make sure that is like one of the first things I ask to see, and he showed it to me and everything. Now, the pricing, the pricing was great. I got the piercing was 55$, and it was so worth it. I would also suggest that you buy the cleaning solution that is offered to you, it is only 5$ for two little bottles. They will go over all that when before you get the piercing

BEST piercing in pittsburgh. large and homey shop.. wide jewlery selection, incredibly sweet, helpful, knowledgeable staff.. really the only place in the pittsburgh area worth going to [other than the south side hot rod shop] for all your piercing needs..
