WOW! I just got home from our
appointment today and I cannot help but brag about what a great, friendly, experienced staff Anne Gregory offers to their brides and their families.
Today was my 2nd time at the salon. Months ago, I purchased my dream gown from them and today we returned to find dresses for my mother and grandmother. Just like during my appointment, both owners and the staff spent over an hour with us, not only helping us find dresses, but talking to us like family members about the details of my big day. We ended up purchasing two dresses today, but we were never once pressured into making a decision or going outside our price range. With their help, my mother was able to find a beautiful dress that fit exactly what she was looking for. They even had something to fit my grandmother's style. When the dress she liked pretty much hung on her small frame, they rushed in to make her feel beautiful.
I highly recommend Anne Gregory for all brides and their families. We've been to other salons and nothing has been comparable.
Greg and Anne Cherico do not miss ONE. SINGLE. DETAIL. It's a long story, but my sister and I both ended up buying our gowns in the same day at the salon! The appointment was supposed to be for me, but after Greg had selected THE most PERFECT wedding gown for me, I encouraged my sister to try on some bridal styles (she and I were engaged within a month of each other) -- you know, just for FUN! Greg basically doubled the appointment time and sold us two wedding gowns in the same day. My sister and I are like night and day, so you can imagine what a challenge it would be to work with us back-to-back. Greg is a man with a true talent for wedding gowns. His taste is absolutely classic, and his knowledge about the construction and craftsmanship of these gowns is unmatched. He has an eye for timeless fashion and proved to me that he can work on opposite ends of the spectrum (and everything in between) with ease. He is patient and honest (what every girl NEEDS when shopping for their gown). The measurements that were taken for my dress to be made were so accurate that all I needed was a little tightening in the waistline. I traveled from Cleveland for this appointment and my fittings, and my sister traveled from Philadelphia! You cannot find a bridal salon like this just anywhere - Anne Gregory for the Bride was voted BEST BRIDAL SALON IN PITTSBURGH for a reason, folks. Wish I could play in that salon every day!
BUYER BEWARE!!!!!. Do NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE!!! They changed the material of my DRESS!! They thought I was dumb enough to pay over $3700.00 for Polyester. They acted like I should have known that it was Poly! Wouldn't wear Poly on a good day why would I wear it on one of the most important days of my life? Greg and Mary Ann acted like they were doing me the favor for getting the wrong dress in. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE… in tears 2 weeks before my wedding. Dress didn't come in when they said it would....said that it was made for me....it didn't fit, wasn't what I ordered....Would not do anything to make it better....It definitely was not a ….”say yes" to the dress EXPERIENCE.....Even the initial visit wasn't....only paid attention to me because I had a big ring!!
Amazing Dress, Awesome Place!. First, let me say I almost didn't go here, because a friend told me they had closed. So for anyone who hears that... they have NOT-they used to be in one place in Mt Leb... but they moved down the road! The new location is so beautiful inside- trying on your dress and coming out to your friends and family in this beautiful shop makes you feel like a princess- it is just like you see on tv shows (much unlike some other local bridal shops I visited, which are basically just a notch up from your normal everyday dressing rooms). I brought my mom, sister, grandmother and best friend, and there was room for everyone and room for me to walk, twirl, and show off. :) Now for the dress... I went in with my own ideas of what I thought I wanted. Greg brought me a couple of dresses to try on that fit that description. They were beautiful, but not "the one". But then he said he had one he wanted me to try that was different than what I said I was looking for. I wasn't keen on that idea, and even after seeing it on the hanger, I didn't think I'd like it at all, nor did my family. I was completely wrong. This dress, THE dress, was amazing, and Greg's ideas and vision were SPOT ON. He added a headpiece that was simply amazing, another thing I would have never tried. Since Anne Gregory was my first stop on my "day of dresses", I wasn't comfortable buying the dress before I visited some other stores. So I left and went to the remainder of my appointments. But my family and I quickly found it was a total waste of time. None of the shops compared, none of the gowns compared, and I knew I had already found my dress. I made another appointment for the following week, tried it on again, and then bought my dress. Greg and Maryann are extremely good at what they do, and were both so wonderful to work with. I would venture a guess that if some of these reviewers thought otherwise, perhaps there is more to those stories. It seems to me that Greg and Maryann just take a lot of pride in their business (it is their shop), take things to heart, and believe they have the best around. And quite frankly... they're right. :) I would recommend them to anyone. They're not the cheapest, but the prices aren't unreasonable at all. And from what I saw at some other shops, you get what you pay for.
ONE WORD...RUDE. Rude! Don't Bother....He is rude and so is she, for all I know, the dog they keep in the store is rude also. There are plenty of other professional bridal dress makers on the same street. Go elsewhere, they don't want or act like they need your business anyway.
Avoid... very arrogant and pushy!.
I did purchase my dress there... and loved it. The alterations were done perfectly. Except for some reason there was a seam down my blusher, the veil that would go over my face?! I didn't get a chance to see it first because I was rushed when I picked up my dress, etc.
The attitudes of the owner, Greg, and his sister are VERY poor... for example they did alot of eye rolling with ANY issue that came up with another customer. There are alot of other nice bridal salons in the city... go to them first. Use them as a last resort!
