Haughty Attitude and Sloppy workmanship!. I am not one to write negative reviews but the combination of a haughty attitude and sloppy workmanship make this a place to be avoided. I dropped off items to be tailored and specific instructions and not one of the items was done correctly and when I tried to explain the directions, the owner cut me off and said, "why are you trying to teach me what to do. I have done this for 40 years..." An overall bad experience... Sloppy!.

GOOD NIGHT IRENE!!!

. I used her in the past and thought her work to be first rate, until recently.
My boyfriend and I gave her over a $1000 worth of new clothes, mainly pants and other things that needed a simple hem.  The lengths were different on every pair of pants, the stitches were bunched up, caught and uneven? The original hems were not attached as instructed...my boyfriends pants were totally destroyed, they were so short.  My pants might be able to be salvaged, but the original hems are gone.  We took the clothes back and showed her, she admitted that she gives the work out to others to repair.
The work was so bad she agreed to not charge us, but, the clothing was still hopelessly destroyed.

She said that she would try to fix them but would not guarantee that she would do the work!!  What?  Unbelievable!!!

I am trying to post this with no stars.

Great work, Good price. Irene's is a great neighborhood tailoring spot. I have had coats, dresses, and pants tailored there and have been extremely pleased with her work. One time Irene had hemmed my pants a little shorter than I wanted, so I took them back and she did them right away, no extra charge.

wouldn't take my clothes anywhere else. Irene's is the best, and I wouldn't trust my clothes with anyone else. The service is great, and she's so accommodating. There was one time I went to pick up a pair of pants, and they were closed, but she was inside. She still let me come in and pick up and pay for my pants. Most places, when they're closed, they're closed. She even sews the bottoms of my jeans back on for me!! And if something isn't hemmed to the exact place you want it, tell her and she will change it for you!

I highly recommend her!!

Horrible Customer Service. After being assured on the phone that I could get last minute measurements, I ran into Squirrel Hill at the beginning of rush hour with a detailed description of the measurements and cash in hand. I met with two of the rudest people I have ever encountered. They threw the list back at me and refused to do it. I offered double the price they asked and demanded to know why they said it was all right on the phone; they said, "We say yes to everything on the phone, and no one will do this many measurements." I was shaking and in tears after struggling to find a babysitter and running all over town, and they just sneered. Awful, awful people.
