The vet I need to see is is never available.. I have had at least 2 places recommend taking my pet ferrets here, but now that I'm having an emergency, I found out that the doctor I need to see in only in on thursdays and for 2 hours on mondays. I needed him on I tried to take my ferret there on a friday. My ferrets started going downhill very fast, and the will not live long enough to see the vet on thursday. (I have taken my pets to other offices, but they don't know what is wrong with them.)
Excellent h professional care for pets. In looking for the hospital's phone number online, I came across this site and happened to notice a negative review, which I felt necessitated a response. I've used this practice for two dogs since the mid 80s and have ZERO complaints. They are extremely professional, friendly to pets, and excellent at diagnosing, treating a myriad of health conditions for pets. As you can see, I'm using my full name in order to add veracity to this review.
Not a very good place to take your animals. I Would suggest pet owners do NOT take your pets to this place.

Fox Chapel Veterinary Hospital (vca).
Dr. Murphy is my hero . . . he helped me keep my sweet kitty alive almost 22 yrs. One of the younger female vets also assisted me. She taught me a procedure to do at home to keep my kitty comfortable and help maintain a good quality of life. Dr. Murphy makes suggestions that he would do or not do with his own cats (he has a few of his own). He is caring and loving, and has wonder bedside manners. You can see his compassion. I had another cat that had a very strange form of cancer, a double lung cancer - it stumped him. He asked if I minded if he took the x rays to a specialist to confer with them on a diagnosis.
He maintains if your animal has a quality of life and we can make sure they are comfortable there is no need to put them to sleep. He gives you his heartfelt advice, but leaves it to you to decide. He also will not put the animal through an invasive test if it will bear information, but nothing can be done about it. He will help you decide the best thing for your animal - operative words "he will help YOU DECIDE". He will not give you animal unnecessary shots if the animal is older and not an outside cat - he doesn't do things just for the money. The other vets have always pleased me when Dr. Murphy was not available - so I highly recommend this vet. Prices are higher - but quality is there. Staff finds answers for you . . .will call back if they find out additional information for you. They have always shown me they care.
