The Scene
Cyclists can drop down from Ft. Duquesne Boulevard and downtown via an ivy-laticed ramp that leads down to the bank of the Allegheny River. Many trees and benches line the narrow concrete and stone trail which leads from the Ninth Street Bridge down to Point State Park. Mountain bikes are a better choice than road bikes on this route because of loose rocks and tough bricks near the Point.
The Sights
Weekends find fishermen dipping their poles into the river, but the true beauty is PNC Park across the Allegheny and the continued development of the Steelers Stadium, the riverfront park joining both facilities and the convention center on the Riverview Park's side. Also, hop on one of the bridge's to cross over to the North Side and take on the gravel trail that starts along River Road.
