Food is outstanding and a good value

I can't speak to issues of valet parking--I was staying in the adjoining hotel--or the complaints of long-standing customers who are dissatisfied since the move. I just know I had first-class service, both at the bar, and in the restaurant.
I went to the bar first after unpacking, and enjoyed the atmosphere. There were mainly locals around the bar, and their patter with the manager was interesting and fun. The bartender took the time to chill my beer glass with ice before pouring the draft, something I appreciate when frosted mugs are not available.
My service was great. The house salad was crisp and tasty. The chicken saltimbocca was perfectly prepared, and the pasta on the side with olive oil and herbs was subtle and delightful.
Now maybe the service is slow, and maybe there are valet parking issues--I can't speak to that. I can say that they made a single businessman diner feel like he was an important customer, and I am used to being slighted when solo on business a lot of the time. I say give Abruzzi's a shot, and I think you may enjoy yourself. I know i will go back without question when I am back in town.
- Pros: Food quality; price; nice local flavor
- Cons: Based on other comments, service MIGHT get spotty
If you really want their food, order it TO GO

My family and I were big fans of the old Abruzzi, but since their move to the Holiday Inn Express they've gone downhill quickly. Like the last reviewer said, they have no idea what's going on. The service was pathetic, so poor that we did not leave a tip. The manager (owner?) could not have cared less when we complained to him. He shrugged his shoulders and walked away. The valet parking was a joke. My husband waited outside while the manager came out and parked our car himself. When we left it took them 15 minutes to figure out who would go and get our car. If you're really hungry for their wonderful food, get take out and save yourself the hassle. Truly a disappointing dining experience.
- Pros: Great food
- Cons: Terrible service, Inept valet parking
Food Good/Service Weak

I think that because Abruzzi's recently moved into a larger location they are having troubles managing a larger crowd. Valet was very disorganized--wait time at least 15 minutes- they throw all of the car keys into one bowl and dig thru it when you leave--no valet claim tickets.
The crowd in the lobby accumulated to at least 10 people with no host/hostess appearing for the longest time so we ended up sitting at the bar to order a wine.
They were out of two wines on their minimal wine list and when we ordered a different wine...it was served WARM...borderline hot. There were people running all around as if no one knew what they were doing.
Atmosphere not very romantic because there are too many tables shoved together with large loud groups of people.
The food was good, but I think I'll wait until they get organized before I return.
