There's so many other good Italian options in the area, why waste your time and money here? Can't blame the wait staff, which is friendly enough, or the cooks, they're doing the best they can with what they have to work with, but this place has never impressed me.
Bravo Cucina Italiana Homestead, Pa.. My husband and have always loved the Bravo restaurant, both in Homestead and near the airport. A month ago we went to a movie and called Bravo to make a reservation before the movie. We were told that it is policy that they do not take reservations and the wait time starts when you walk in the door. After the movie, we walked across the street and as we walked up to the hostess' desk, another lady walked up and said that she had a reservation. The hostess asked her name and the other girl took her to a table. I told the hostess we were told you couldn't make reservations. She said that perhaps they were busy when I called! She simply asked my name and told me to wait. We waited for 35 minutes and watched 3 other people come in and get seated before us, although they did not seem to have reservations. The girl was very abrupt, close to rude and I assume she let us wait for questioning the reservation policy. While I waited, I used the bathroom and thankfully had tissues in my pocket because there was NO toilet paper in "any" of the stalls. Once we were seated, we waited over 25 minutes before anyone came to our table and then she apologized for not realizing we were at her table. What a totally horrible night! Two weeks ago, we stopped at Cheesecake Factory instead for supper. The food was not nearly as good, but the service was better. I feel the whole night at Bravo got off on the wrong foot because of the hostess. She certainly should not be what your restaurant is all about.
You're Seriously Kidding, Right?!?.
Are all the reviews of this restaurant made by the staff -- to increase the ratings? Wow. Amazing.
I can't believe everyone has had such good experiences at Bravo!. Having not lived in Pittsburgh for several years, I was excited to return and head back to Bravo! -- the food of which I generally enjoy.
However, the service is horrible! Being out on a special occasion, I had ordered a bottle of Moet Champagne, at $85 menu price (i.e., $45 in the state liquor stores) and was told by the server, "Sorry - we don't have any more champagne flutes, we only have white wine glasses."
My response was, "You've GOT to be kidding, right?" We spoke to a manager who offered no assistance, as well. For and $85 bottle of champagne -- head out to Target and pick up some before you serve the wine, you goof!
There were sooo many poor serving experiences (poor timing, not checking back in an appropriate time, incorrectly staggered courses/ progression of order)... I can only wonder: "Are the servers and staff writing all the reviews, here.... or are people in Pittsburgh seriously 'okay' being underwhelmed and have no idea what to expect from good, let alone 'great' service!"
Having been a server before (and a pretty good one, at that!), I know what to look for in the way of service standards... and I'm always -- ALWAYS -- left unimpressed with Bravo!
Don't even think about trying the Bravo on McKnight road, North Hills, Pittsburgh -- It's exactly the same.
Other than the food -- I'd never consider going back. Save the extra money and head to Olive Garden or a local, family owned Italian restaurant.... you'll be happy that you did!

Everything item is delicious. oh my gosh this restaurant is one one the best italian places anybody could eat at. I eat at bravos at least 1-2 times a week. i have tried many of items on the menu and there is notone thing i did not like. if u like chicken i would HIGHLY suggest their romano crusted chicken.. they also have a romano crusted chicken salad and u can get chicken with potatoes which are really good. their raviolis are made in a white sauce with a few stripes of pesto. its not an alfredo sauce but it is simply delicious. i've tried 95% of the menu. bottom line is ANTHING IS VERY GOOD
Diablo!. Simply the tastiest shrimp pasta dish around. If you like Italian food you'll love Bravo. It's a good job they are a chain.
Bravisimo!. My wife and I love Bravo. We have been to several. The food and the service is always excellent. I recommend the Shrimp Diavolo and the cheesecake. The salads and bread with olive oil are outstanding. Enjoy!
A chain in name only..
The Scene
A large, comfortable room with high ceilings and huge demi-lune chandeliers is cloaked in colors of white, tan, and yellow with large faux marble columns. There is a small bar on your right as you enter, and tables inside and on a patio. Service is surprisingly fast, and the waitstaff is friendly.
The Food
The classic Italian menu centers on a wood-fired oven and grill, as well as pastas and salads. The antipasto del casa with fried calamari, mushroom ravioli al forno and shrimp canneloni easily serves three or four as a starter. The pizzas have a thick crust, while the flatbreads are rolled out to a cracker depth. Toppings range from the simple margherita to an unusual shrimp scampi flatbread with tomato, carmelized onion, and bacon. Try the house specialty gorgonzola crusted strip and the signature pasta bravo with penne, grilled chicken, mushrooms and a roasted red pepper sauce.
Great place for lunch. Love the look of this place. I was amazed at how relaxed I felt at this restaurant. There was a large selection to chose from on the menu, the prices are resonable, and the service was excellant. My mother and I ate lunch there, and did not fill rushed to leave our table or fill to stuffy in our surroundings.
bravo for bravos. the food was excellent and at a good price. the atmosphere was romantic yet good for the family. it was clean, friendly, and just all around great resturaunt with friendly faces!
Molto Bravo!!. What an amazing restaurant!!!! I visited Bravo on a Friday night a few weeks ago. I was told there was an hour wait but within 10 minutes I had a table. The ambiance in this restaurant was one of the nicest I've ever seen. The food was excellent. I'm Italian and am picky about the places I eat, but I was definitely satisfied with Bravo. I will be returning soon.
