The Scene
Capristo is at the corner of Ellsworth and College Avenues, right next to Eons (an antique clothier you have to check out when you're finished spa-ing). It's bright and airy where it needs to be, and soft and secluded where it has to be.
Mind And Body
The hairstyling parlor is bustling and animated, like any good neighborhood beauty shop, but just a door away is a trickling indoor fountain that leads to private massage rooms, where the lighting is low and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing.
Prime Pampering
This salon offers hair care, skin care and specialty treatments, "nail esthetics," body treatments and waxing. Prices are comparable to other nice, full service spas. A one-hour massage is $65; a shampoo and a style begins at $21. A basic manicure will set you back $16. Specialty treatments and services are more.

Capristo is a great salon, very professional and very reputable. I personally see Kim. She does a fantastic job with my highlights. I've never had a single complaint with her work. I get lots of compliments on my color and have Kim to thank. If you are looking to have highlights done be sure to ask for her. She is also great with the cut and style. Definitely the best stylist I've been to.

Since the first moment I could get a haircut, I've been going to Capristo's and in that time I've come to know Kim as one of the best not only at Capristo's but in Pittsburgh. While my friends have had horror stories about people dying their hair or cutting it a way they hated that even brought them to tears, I've always felt confident it whatever Kim is doing and however she goes about executing it. She knows what works best for every client and isn't afraid to tell you what will be best for you. In this day in age, we're all so determined to do our own thing to distinguish us, and the worst possible thing you could do is damage your hair in the process. Kim's first priority is always the customer and is much more thorough that any other person around. While other people I know are worried about where they're going to get their haircut in college, I know that no matter what it takes, I'll be venturing back to Kim not only throughout college but throughout the rest of my life.
Pros: Everything, worth the money
