One of the great cultural centers of the city..
The Scene
Schenley Park's most popular winter hangout is its huge ice-skating rink. Skate-sharpening for just $3; how can you beat that? The rink hosts in-line skating and roller hockey during the summer, and the popular Phipps Conservatory houses some unique vegetation.
What to Do
In-line skaters, walkers and runners can cruise along a path through the thick woods, or cool off next to the large man-made lake (don't go in). The hills that run up and down the park make for a challenging golfing experience and an even more challenging bike ride. The swimming pool is an oft-frequented cooling spot on hot summer days, and the park hosts the annual Vintage Grand Prix every August.
Special Summer Event
Every Wednesday and Sunday at sundown (weather permitting), movies are screened on Flagstaff Hill in Schenley Park.
