The Scene
Rolling hills provide a great view of the clubhouse from many spots on the course and a trademark Western Pennsylvania golf feel. Designed in 1971 by Don Nagode and reworked 19 years later by Bob Murphy and Sean Parees, Quicksilver weighs in at a healthy 7,083 yards from the silver tees and a much more tame 6,389 yards from the whites. Seventy-three bunkers and five lakes dot the landscape, which is meticulously gardened and mowed.
Signature Hole
The par-3, 199-yard 8th. This downhill par-3 presents a number of challenges. A horseshoe lake surrounds three quarters of this bowled green in front and a narrow bunker covers the back. Select a club with higher loft to account for the elevation change and to have any chance of holding the green. Watch out: The slick, domed putting surface makes rolling one into the water a distinct possibility.
But Wait, There's More
The lavish clubhouse includes a well-stocked pro shop, locker room facilities, Murphy's Pub and Restaurant complete with indoor and outdoor seating, a snack bar and several ballrooms.

Nominated for best golf course for its outstanding layout and conditioning.
Course Tip:
The fabulous bunkers, including Quicksilver's answer to Oakmont C.C.'s "church pews" on 18, are great to look at, but steer clear if your score is of any concern to you.
Number of Sleeves:
Two to three. Water comes into play on eight holes and a few others are tightly guarded by out-of-bounds fences.
